UGC NET 2021: National Testing Agency has released the UGC NET New Exam date. UGC NET Dec 2020 Cycle and June 2021 examination cycle will be merged. University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is a national-level exam conducted in order to determine the eligibility of candidates for only Assistant Professor or both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor post in Indian universities and colleges. the National Testing Agency (NTA), with the concurrence of UGC, has merged both UGC-NET of December 2020 and June 2021 cycles so that they be conducted together in CBT mode. How To Fill UGC NET 2021 Online Application Form?

UGC NET Application form has been started now. Candidates can fill the UGC NET application form by following the given steps:

Step I: Registration Page

Fill in the basic information and note down the system-generated Application No.

(i) Candidate’s Name/ Mother’s Name/ Father’s Name as given in the Secondary School Examination or equivalent Board/University Certificate in capital letters

(ii) Date of Birth in dd/mm/yyyy format as mentioned in Secondary School Examination or equivalent Board/ University certificate.

(iii) Mobile Number and e-mail Address – Candidates must provide their own Mobile Number and e-mail address.

Note: Only one e-mail address and one Mobile Number are valid for one application.

Step II: Fill in the complete Application Form:

(a) The applicant fills in all the required credentials in the form.

  • Personal information: includes, name, gender, parents’ name, mobile number, email address, date of birth, etc.
  • Permanent address: includes address, pin code, state code district, etc.
  • Educational Qualification: the applicant is required to fill in the details of educational qualification which include Name of the Course, Name of the College, Year of Passing, percentage of marks required, etc.
  • -After all the details are filled in, candidates need to click on the “Next” button.

Step III: Uploading of scanned images & Signature

  • The candidate’s Photograph & Signature should be in JPG/JPEG format only
  • The size of the scanned image of the photograph should be between 10kb to 200kb. The photograph need not be attested.
  • The size of the scanned image of the signature should be between 4kb to 30kb. The candidate should put his full signature in running handwriting on white paper with a Black Ink pen and scan for uploading.
  • Spectacles are allowed only if being used regularly.
  • Polaroid and Computer-generated photos are not acceptable.
  • The same Passport size photograph is to be used for uploading with the Online Application Form and for pasting on Attendance Sheet at the Examination Centre.

Step IV: Payment of Fee and Status of receipt of Online Application Form with Fee. Make a payment of fee through SBI /Syndicate/HDFC /ICICI Payment Gateway (Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking/Paytm) and keep proof of fee paid.

(b) All the steps for submission of Online Application Form, Uploading of Candidate’s photograph, Candidate’s signature, Payment of fee, and Printing of Confirmation Page can also be done separately.

(c) Once finally submitted, particulars in certain specific fields may be changed only during the correction window.

UGC NET 2021: Important Points To Note

The process of the UGC NET online application will consist of four steps. Aspirants should keep in mind the below:

  • Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate. More than one application i.e. multiple Application Forms submitted by a candidate will not be accepted
  • The medium of the Question Paper shall be in English & Hindi only.
  • Each question carries 02 (two) marks for and for each correct response, the candidate will get 02 (two) marks.
  • There is no negative marking for an incorrect response.
  • No marks will be given for questions un-answered/un-attempted/marked for Review.
  • The UGC NET officials will provide candidates with a chance to edit their online applications.
  • The candidate’s Photograph & Signature should be in JPG/JPEG format only
  • The size of the scanned image of the photograph should be between 10kb to 200kb. The photograph need not be attested.

Documents To Keep Ready Before Filling UGC NET Application Form

UGC NET 2020 online application form has been extended from 2 Feb 2021 to 2 Mar 2021. Candidates are advised to keep ready the required document at the time of UGC NET 2020 online Form filling.

  • All educational certificates and mark sheets.
  • PAN Card/License /Passport number/Aadhaar card number/Voter ID card number/any Government ID proof
  • Category certificate (if applicable).
  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate (if applicable).
  • A person with Disability (PwD) certificate (if applicable).
  • Candidate’s Name/ Mother’s Name/ Father’s Name as given in the Senior Secondary School Examination or equivalent Board/ University Certificate in capital letters
  • Date of Birth in dd/mm/yyyy format as recorded in Secondary School Examination or equivalent Board/ University certificate
  • Scanned images of photo and signature in JPG format (file size of photo: 10 kb to 200 kb, the file size of signature: 4 kb to 30 kb)
  • A valid email ID and mobile number.

  • Subject code for which the candidate plans to take the exam (mentioned in the information brochure).
  • Code of post-graduation course (mentioned in information brochure)

The application fee of UGC NET 2021 varies category-wise. The application fee once paid, is not refundable or transferable under any circumstances. Fee details are as follows:

UGC NET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must apply after reading the eligibility criteria to appear in the UGC NET 2021 exam, Here are the broad pointers:
Candidates who are pursuing their master’s degree equivalent courses or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying master’s degree (Final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examination has been delayed can appear in the UGC NET  2021 Examination.
Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science, etc. are eligible for this Test.
For Reserved Category: The Other Backward Classes(OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer/Scheduled Caste(SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ persons with disability(PwD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this test.
For SET Candidates: The candidates who have cleared the States Eligibility Test (SET) accredited by UGC for Assistant Professor held prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from appearing in NET and are eligible to apply for Assistant Professor anywhere in India.
For Transgender Candidates: The transgender category would be eligible to draw the same relaxation in fee, age, and qualifying criteria for NET (i.e. JRF and Assistant Professor) as are available to SC/ST/PwD categories.

UGC NET Age Limit: Junior Research Fellowship

Age Limit: Not more than 31 years as on the 1st day of the month in which the examination is concluded.Note: UGC has also revised the age limit for JRF which will be applicable for this current examination only. JRF applied candidate age limit should not be more than 31 yr as of 01.10.2021 (October 1, 2021).
Relaxation: A relaxation of up to 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC (Non-creamy layer, as per the Central list of OBC available on the website: www.ncbc.nic.in) SC/ST/PWD/Transgender categories and to women applicants.

  • Relaxation will also be provided to the candidates with research experience, limited to the period spent on research in the relevant/related subject of post-graduation degree, subject to a maximum of 5 years, on the production of a certificate from the appropriate authority.
  • Three years of relaxation in age will be permissible to the candidates with L.L.M. Degree.
  • A relaxation of up to 5 years is provided to the candidates who have served in the armed forces subject to the length of service in the armed forces up to the first day of the month in which the concerned UGC-NET is to be held.
  • Total age relaxation on the above ground(s) shall not exceed five years under any circumstances.

Once the online application registration process will over, NTA offers the one-time facility to the candidates for correction in the application form. Following steps to be followed by the candidates at the time of correction in the UGC NET Online application form.

UGC NET 2021 Selection Process

  • The number of candidates to be qualified (total slots or Eligibility for Assistant Professor) shall be equal to 6% of the candidates who appeared in both the papers of NET.
  • In order to be considered for ‘JRF and Eligibility for Assistant Professor’ and for ‘Assistant Professor’, the candidate must have appeared in both the papers and secured at least 40% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for the General (Unreserved) category candidates and at least 35% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for all candidates belonging to the following reserved categories

UGC NET Admit Card 2021

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released UGC NET Admit Card 2021 will be out soon. The admit card download link will be activated by the Agency on the official site of UGC NET 2021 at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Eligible candidates can check for the Examination Centre, Date, and Shift (Timing) as indicated in their Admit Card.No candidate will be allowed to appear at the examination center, on Date and Timings other than that allotted to them in their Admit card. Candidates are advised to carry only the following with them into the Examination venue:
a) Admit Card along with Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the NTA Website (a clear printout on A4 size paper) duly filled in.
b) A simple transparent Ball Point Pen.
c) Additional photograph, to be pasted on Attendance Sheet
d) Personal hand sanitizer (50 ml).

UGC NET Result

The NTA will release the UGC NET Result 2021 on the official website along with the scorecard. In UGC NET June 2020 session, Out of 8,60,976 registered candidates, 5,26,707 candidates appeared in the UGC NET June examination. UGC NET 2021 E-Certificate:

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued the E certificate to give honor to all the selected candidates in UGC NET Exam.
