The official notification for KTET April 2024 has been published on the official website on 16 April 2024. Enthusiastic candidates eagerly waiting for the April Cycle of KTET 2024 must get ready to apply from 17 April 2024 to 2nd May 2024 in online mode.

KTET 2024 Notification Out

To become eligible to apply for various teaching opportunities within Kerala, candidates must crack the KTET Exam 2024 and get the KTET Certificate. Thus, all the aspiring candidates must get ready for the application and the exam.

The Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan (KPB) announced the release of the KTET notification for the April Session on April 16, 2024. The deadline for payment of the application fee and generating the final printout is also 2nd May 2024. The KTET admit card is set to be issued on June 3, 2024.

Candidates can make their payment for the KTET 2024 form through various methods such as NET Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, etc. Additionally, the Pareeksha Bhavan has revealed the dates for the KTET exam, which is scheduled to be held on June 22 and 23, 2024.

KTET Exam Date 2024 & Schedule

The KTET exam date 2024 has been announced along with the release of the notification. The Exam will be conducted on 22 June 2024 and 23 June 2024 in offline mode through conventional pen and paper mode.

Candidates can apply for the KTET Exam in four categories- Category I (Primary), Category II (Upper Primary), Category III (High School), and Category IV (Languages).

KTET Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should go read through the notification for starters it will offer them all the crucial information on the application process, eligibility criteria, exam pattern, syllabus, and other nuances related to the KTET Notification 2024 for the April Cycle. To qualify for KTET Category 1, Category 2, Category 3, and Category 4, candidates must meet the minimum educational requirements.

For Category 1 (Lower Primary Classes)

Candidates who are appearing for Kerala TET 2024 must be qualified following points:-

  • Must pass Higher Secondary/ Higher Secondary or equivalent at least with 45% and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure)Regulations 2002 or Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). or Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education

For Category 2 (Upper Primary Classes)

  • B.A/ B.Sc./ B.Com. and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) [by whatever name known] conducted by Board of Exam, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent. or BA/ B.Sc. / B.Com with at least 45% marks and one-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with NCTE (Recognition, Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard or Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). or Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years BA/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed or B.Sc.Ed

For Category 3 (High School Classes)

The test is for HSAs in: (i) Malayalam (ii) English (iii) Hindi (iv) Sanskrit (v) Tamil (vi) Kannada (vii) Arabic (viii) Urdu (ix) Social Science (x) Physical Science (xi) Natural Science and (xii) Mathematics

  • BA/ BSc/ B.Com with marks of at least 45% and a B.Ed. A degree in the subject concerned (from any of the universities in Kerala or from any other university recognised as equivalent)
  • For those who have MSc. Ed. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, A degree with not less than 50 per cent of the marks of one of the Regional Institutes of Education funded by NCERT will be eligible to apply for the subject matter concerned. For the subjects of Botany and Zoology, those with MSc. Ed., Ed. It is possible to apply for a Degree in Life Science with not less than 50 per cent marks from any of the Regional Institutes of Education.
  • Candidates from SC/ST and differently-abled categories will be provided with a relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum qualifying marks. Candidates from OBC & OEC categories will be given a relaxation of 3% in the qualifying marks to appear for the K-TET III.

For Category 4

For Language teachers in Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu (up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers and Physical Education teachers (up to High School level)

  • Those who have acquired qualifications for the posts of Language Teachers of Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit & Urdu (up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers & Physical Education teachers as mentioned in Chapter XXXI of Kerala Education Act and Rules are eligible to apply for K-TET IV.
  • Candidates from SC/ST and differently-abled categories will be provided a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying marks prescribed for the eligibility to appear for the K-TET IV.

KTET Syllabus 2024

KTET Qualifying Marks 2024

The KTET exam has different minimum qualifying marks depending on the candidate’s category. For the general category, a score of 60% is required to pass. Candidates belonging to reserved categories need to achieve a minimum of 55%.
  • General Category: Minimum qualifying marks – 60%
  • Reserved Category: Minimum qualifying marks – 55%

KTET Exam Process 2024

To understand the chronology of the events under the KTET 2024, candidates must read out the following section carefully. They should understand that they must apply for the KTET 2024 through online application process followed by the release of the admit cards. Next, they have to appear for the KTET Exam 2024 scheduled on  22 June and 23 June 2024. Finally, the results will be released

  • Apply Online: Fill out the KTET application form on the Pareeksha Bhavan website. Submit the form with online payment receipt (or challan) and copies of certificates. Choose your exam center district during application.
  • Download Admit Card: Download your KTET admit card from the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan website. No physical admit cards are mailed. The admit card shows your name and test center details.
  • Appear for the Exam: Each KTET Category (1, 2, 3, & 4) exam lasts 2.5 hours. Arrive at the test center at least 30 minutes before the exam starts. The exam is offline and uses OMR sheets.
  • Check Results: The KTET results are declared on the Pareeksha Bhavan website. Those who achieve the minimum qualifying marks pass and receive a KTET certificate.
