KARTET Eligibility Criteria 2024
Candidates must read the Eligibility Criteria for the KARTET to ensure they are eligible for the exam. The eligibility criteria for Paper I and Paper II is different hence it is imperative for the candidates to go through the eligibility criteria carefully.
- Eligibility for Paper I (class 1 to 5): PUC/ Sr Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks & passed/ appearing in the final year of 2-year DElEd (by whatever name known)/ 4th year BElEd/ 2-year DEd (Special Education) OR BA/ BSc with at least 50% marks & passed/ appearing in Final-year of 2-year DEd.
- Eligibility for Paper II (class 6 to 8): BA/ BSc with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year DElEd / 2-year BEd/ 4-year BElEd/ Final-year BEd (Special Education)/ PUC / Sr Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks & passed/ appearing in the final year of 4-year BAEd/ BScEd.
- Domicile: There is no domicile requirement for appearing in KARTET. However, priority for teaching positions in Karnataka government schools will be given to candidates with Karnataka domicile.
KARTET Exam Pattern 2024
The Education Department of Karnataka has already published the Exam Pattern of KARTET 2024 for the convenience of the candidates preparing for the exam. As per the Exam Pattern, candidates will have to appear for Paper I for classes 1 to 5 and Paper II for classes 6 to 8.
- Exam Pattern for Paper I: The examination is conducted offline with a duration of 2.5 hours (150 minutes), comprising a total of 150 questions carrying 150 marks. There is no negative marking, with one mark awarded for each correct answer.
