The State Bank of India (SBI), the largest public sector bank in the country, has released the SBI Clerk Vacancy 2025 Notification (Advt. No. CRPD/CR/2025‑26/06). This is one of the most awaited announcements for banking exam aspirants, attracting lakhs of applications every year.

For the 2025 recruitment cycle, SBI has announced a total of 6589 vacancies across all states and Union Territories, including both regular and backlog positions. The SBI has announced recruitment for the post of Junior Associate in the Clerical Cadre (Customer Support and Sales). Interested candidates can submit their SBI Clerk Application Form through the official SBI website sbi.co.in/web/careers from 6th August to 26th August 2025. To secure the position, candidates must successfully clear both stages of the selection process, the Preliminary and Main examinations.

SBI Clerk Vacancy 2025 Vs 2024

The SBI Clerk Vacancy 2025 is much lower compared to 2024. Last year, there were 13,735 vacancies (including 456 backlog), but this year there are only 6,589 vacancies (including 1,409 backlog), which is less than half of the previous year. In 2024, states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Bihar had many openings, but in 2025 the numbers are smaller in most states, even though backlog vacancies are higher. This big drop means the competition for SBI Clerk 2025 will be tougher, so candidates need to prepare carefully.

Important Note:

• 4.5% vacancies are reserved for Disabled Ex-Servicemen and dependents of servicemen killed in action, in addition to 10% for Ex-Servicemen (total 14.5%).
• Priority: Disabled Ex-Servicemen first, followed by dependents of defence personnel killed or severely disabled (50%+ disability).
• OBC candidates under the Non-Creamy Layer are eligible for reservation. Those in the Creamy Layer must apply as General. OBC certificates must include the “Non-Creamy Layer” clause issued between 01.04.2025 and the date of appointment.
• EWS candidates must provide a valid Income and Asset Certificate for the financial year 2023-24 during document verification. Failure to produce this certificate will result in disqualification.
