SBI Clerk Prelims Exam Pattern 2026

This is what the exam looks like. 100 questions for 100 marks divided between three sections. The duration is 20 minutes for each section, and there is negative marking of 1/4th or 0.25 is deducted for every wrong answer.

Is there negative marking in the SBI Clerk exam?

Negative marking: For every wrong answer, ¼ mark (0.25) is deducted. There is no penalty for questions left unattempted, so it’s safer to skip a question you’re unsure about rather than guess randomly.

Each section has its own individual time limit, you cannot use extra time saved from one section for another, so time management within each section matters.
