How to Apply for SSC CHSL 2026?
- Go to ssc.gov.in or open the my SSC app.
- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR).
- Log in and select Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2026.
- Fill in your personal, educational and other details. Choose three exam centres within the same region, because centres can’t be changed later.
- Capture a live photo on the form (no cap, mask or glasses; you can’t upload an old photo). Upload your signature as a JPEG, 10–20 KB, about 6 × 2 cm. Candidates who authenticate with Aadhaar are not rejected for photo or signature issues.
- Check the preview, then submit.
- Pay the ₹100 fee by UPI, net banking or a Visa, Mastercard, Maestro or RuPay debit card. Women, SC, ST, PwBD and eligible ex-servicemen candidates pay nothing.
- Save or print the application form.
SSC CHSL Application Correction Window
SSC will open the SSC CHSL 2026 Application Correction Window from 14 to 16 October 2026, up to 11 PM. Candidates can use this 3-day window to make necessary changes to their submitted applications.
- Candidates can correct and resubmit their application form up to two times.
- The first correction will cost ₹200, while the second correction will cost ₹500.
- The correction fee is the same for all candidates.
- The fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit Card.
- The correction fee is non-refundable.
- If the correction fee is not paid, the corrected application will be treated as incomplete, and the previously submitted application will remain valid.
SSC CHSL Selection Process
The SSC CHSL 2026 selection process consists of two computer-based tiers, followed by a qualifying Skill/Typing Test and Document Verification. There is no interview.

The SSC CHSL final merit is prepared based on marks obtained in Tier 2 Sections I and II. Tier 1 serves as a screening stage, while the Computer Knowledge Module and Skill/Typing Test are qualifying in nature and do not contribute to the final merit, but candidates must qualify in these stages for selection.
What is the SSC CHSL Exam Date 2026-27?
The official SSC CHSL 2026 notification does not mention the exact exam date, but Tier 1 is expected to be held around January – February 2027. SSC has announced the CGL exam date and it will be held from 30th September to 30th October 2026, so the beginning of 2027 appears to be the most probable window for the SSC CHSL Tier 1 2026 exam to be conducted.
SSC CHSL Exam City 2026
Before the admit card, SSC releases the City Intimation Slip, which informs candidates about their exam city. It is generally issued 8–10 days before the exam, allowing candidates to plan their travel. Candidates can download the slip from their regional SSC website using their registration details.
SSC CHSL 2026 Admit Card
The Admit Card carries the exact exam centre address, shift timing, and reporting instructions, and is mandatory for entry to the exam hall.
It will be released 2-3 days before the individual exam date. Candidates can download it same way as city intimation slip.
SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam Pattern
Tier-I is an online objective-type exam consisting of four sections: English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness.
- Each section carries 25 questions for 50 marks, making a total of 100 questions for 200 marks.
- Sectional timers have been introduced. Each subject now has a fixed 15-minute time limit.
- Total exam duration is 60 minutes (80 minutes for scribe-eligible candidates, with 20 minutes allotted per subject).
- There is negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.
- Tier-I is qualifying in nature and used to shortlist candidates for Tier-II.

- Tier-II is also an online-mode Exam conducted across two sessions on the same day.
- Session-I (2 hours 15 minutes) covers Section-I, Section-II, and Section-III, all objective in nature.
- Session-II consists of Section-IV, the Skill Test/Typing Test, which is qualifying in nature.

- Negative marking of 1 mark applies for each wrong answer in Sections I, II, and III.

SSC CHSL 2026 Skill/Typing Test
Section III of SSC CHSL consists of the Skill Test/Typing Test, which is held during Session II on the same day as the other examination sessions. It is a qualifying test, and the performance of candidates is assessed according to the rules set by the Commission.
For accuracy calculation, errors made during the Skill Test are considered up to two decimal places. The test is conducted as per the prescribed scheme to maintain uniformity in the evaluation of all candidates. Check the detailed guidelines here.
