NIACL AO 2026 Eligibility Criteria
According to the released notification, all the candidates must check the eligibility criteria for applying online to the NIACL AO for the Administrative Officer (Generalist) post. Candidates must check all the details carefully to avoid any future disparity.
NIACL AO Nationality
For the NIACL AO post, both Generalist and Specialist, the candidate must be:
- a citizen of India, or
- a subject of Nepal, or
- a subject of Bhutan, or
- a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 01st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt. of India

Steps to Apply for the NIACL AO Recruitment
Steps to Apply for the NIACL AO are given below:
Step-1: Start the application process by visiting the official website of New India Assurance Co. Ltd. @ newindia.co.in.
Step-2: On the homepage, locate and click on the “Recruitment” section, situated at the top of the page.
Step-3: Look for the specific recruitment titled “Recruitment of Administrative Officer (Scale I) 2026” and click on it.
Step-4: Opt for the “New Sign-Up” option to generate a fresh registration number and password.
Step-5: After obtaining the registration number, click on the “Apply Online” link associated with it.
Step-6: Provide all the required details in the application form, complete the application fee payment, and upload the necessary documents as per the guidelines.
Step-7: Once you have filled in all the information, click on the “Submit” button and make sure to download a copy of the submitted application form for future reference.

NIACL AO 2026 Selection Process
- NIACL AO Phase 1 Examination: It is conducted online and consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The subjects usually include English Language, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude. Candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in this stage will be shortlisted for the next phase.
- NIACL AO Phase 2 Examination: This exam consists of objective-type and descriptive-type questions. Objective-type questions usually cover topics like Reasoning, English Language, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and Professional Knowledge related to the specific field (such as Finance, Legal, IT, etc.).

NIACL AO Phase I Exam Pattern
- The NIACAL Preliminary Exam will consist of questions from three sections, namely English, Reasoning, and Numerical/Quantitative Aptitude.
- Each section will have a specific time limit of 20 minutes allocated for answering the questions.
- In total, there will be 100 Multiple Choice Questions, with each question carrying 1 mark.
- Candidates should be aware of the negative marking system, where 1/4th of a mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer given by them.
