The Staff Selection Commission has announced a total of 25487 vacancies for the Constable (GD) post. It includes 23467 for male candidates and 2020 for female candidates. The online registration for SSC GD Constable 2026 recruitment has begun on the official website of SSC at www.ssc.gov.in. Candidates who were eagerly waiting for the recruitment can now make their One Time Registration and then apply for the post. The online registration window is only active till 31st December 2025.

The application fee for SSC GD is Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only). Women candidates, as well as candidates belonging to SC, ST, and Ex-Servicemen categories eligible for reservation, are exempted from paying the fee.

SSC GD 2026 Exam Pattern

The exam will be conducted in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

• All questions are Objective Multiple-Choice type.
• Negative marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

SSC GD Constable CBT Qualifying Marks

Candidates must score the minimum required marks in the Computer-Based Test to qualify for PET/PST. These qualifying marks are calculated without considering NCC bonus marks. The minimum qualifying marks are as follows:

• UR: 30%
• OBC/EWS: 25%
• All other categories: 20%

SSC GD 2026 PET PST Details

Based on the CBE performance, candidates will be shortlisted for the PET/PST, which will be conducted at CAPF-designated centres. Those shortlisted will undergo biometric verification before the tests. The PST includes measurements of height, weight, and chest (where applicable). Check the PET and PST Details below:

The only physical requirement for SSC GD Constable post include Height, chest, and weight measurements. The weight must be Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards. NCC Bonus Marks for SSC GD Candidates

Candidates holding NCC certificates are eligible for additional incentive marks, which will be added to their normalised scores in the Computer-Based Examination. The incentives are as follows:

• NCC ‘C’ Certificate: 5% of the maximum marks
• NCC ‘B’ Certificate: 3% of the maximum marks
• NCC ‘A’ Certificate: 2% of the maximum marks
