The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has published the official Notification for Junior Hindi Translator Recruitment 2026. A total of 84 vacancies have been announced for Junior Translator Officer, Junior Hindi Translator, and Senior Hindi Translator posts, and the online application process has started today. SSC JHT Notification 2026 Out

The Junior Hindi Translator post is a Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted post in for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of the Government of India. Candidates with a Masters degree in Hindi with English or vice versa can apply for the post before deadline. The pay level as per the post as mentioned here, so candidates are advised to apply as per their eligibility and post preference:

Who is eligible for the Junior Hindi Translator post?

SSC JHT Nationality

The candidate for SSC Junior Translator must be a Citizen of either India or Nepal or Bhutan. If a candidate is a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan shall have a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India in favor of him/her.

SSC JHT 2026 Selection Process

Paper-I (CBT, Objective): General Hindi & General English, 200 marks, 2 hours, 0.25 negative marking.
Paper-II (Descriptive, Offline): Translation (Hindi↔English) and essays, 200 marks, 2 hours.
Document Verification: For candidates who qualify both papers.
Final Merit: Based on combined marks of Paper-I and Paper-II.

Sectional timing in Paper 1 is new this year. Each section in Paper 1 is of 1 hour each. Other aspects fo the exam pattern remains the same as mentioned below.
