IBPS PO Vs IBPS RRB PO- Which One Is Better?
The difference between IBPS PO and IBPS RRB PO is not as both are conducted by IBPS and the participating Banks are the same. However, the major difference is that IBPS PO postings are given in urban areas or semi-urban areas, but IBPS RRB PO is specifically for rural areas. So, the suitability of the post can be decided by the candidate themselves only. Here are some slight differences that we have mentioned in the table below.
Point | IBPS PO | IBPS RRB PO |
Full Form | Probationary Officer in Public Sector Banks | Probationary Officer (Scale I Officer) in Regional Rural Banks |
Work Area | Mostly in urban and semi-urban branches | Mostly in rural and semi-urban branches |
Job Role | More focused on banking operations, customer service, and sales | Focused on rural development, agriculture loans, and financial inclusion |
Career Growth | Faster promotions and transfers across India | Growth opportunities exist but are comparatively slower; postings usually remain within the region |
Salary & Perks | Slightly higher with additional allowances | Good salary but usually lower than IBPS PO |
