IBPS RRB Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2021: The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the official notification for PO, Clerk and Officer Scale posts for various Regional Rural Banks (RRB) on 07th June 2021. The eligible candidates will be selected officers through Prelims, Mains, and Interview (except for clerk). The candidates who are interested in RRB Recruitment must be aware of the latest exam pattern and syllabus to score good marks in the exam. IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) has officially announced the exam dates of Prelims & Mains for IBPS RRB respective posts. The Prelims of IBPS RRB will be conducted on 1st, 7th, 8th, 14th & 21st August 2021. The IBPS RRB mains exam for Officer Scale-I will be held on 25th September 2021 and for Office Assistant will be conducted on 31st October 2021. IBPS RRB Selection Procedure

The IBPS RRB Exam Pattern for the PO, Clerk, Officer Grade-II & III post has been discussed here.

  • For IBPSC RRB Clerk, there will be two stages of Exam- Prelims & Mains
  • For IBPS PO or Officer Scale I, there will be three stages of Exam- Prelims, Mains & Interview
  • For IBPS Officer Grade-II (General Banking Officer and Specialist Cadre) and III, there will be a single-window exam- IBPS Officer Grade II Exam &  Interview
  • For all the posts of IBPS RRB, the candidates have to pass each stage of the Exam for their successful selection.

IBPS RRB Prelims Exam Pattern For Clerk

A composite time of 45 minutes is provided to candidates to complete two sections namely Reasoning and Numerical Ability. Candidates must clear the cut-off of each section. The cut-off for each section is decided by the team of IBPS depending on the level of difficulty of the paper

IBPS RRB Officer Grade Exam Pattern

IBPS RRB Officer Scale-I Exam is conducted in 3 different phases:

The preliminary Exam is for only Scale I but the Mains Exam is for all Officer level posts, it differs a bit in terms of professional knowledge required to qualify at this stage. The exact IBPS RRB Officer Grade Exam Pattern has been released with IBPS RRB Notification.

Officer Scale I Mains 2021 Exam Pattern

The IBPS RRB Officer Scale I Exam for Mains will be of a total of 200 marks of 2 hours. There will be a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

IBPS RRB Officer Scale-II Exam Pattern

There will be a single-level exam for IBPS RRB Officer Scale-II Post. Selection will be made. Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of the Online Single examination to be considered to be shortlisted for an interview.

Depending on the number of vacancies available, the adequate number of candidates in each category not exceeding three times the declared vacancies shall be called for interview, subject to availability. Before the completion of the interview process, scores obtained in the Online Main Examination will not be shared with the candidates shortlisted for the interview.

IBPS RRB Syllabus Interview Process

Candidates who have been shortlisted in the main examination for the post of Officers Scale I, II & III will be subsequently called for an interview coordinated by the Nodal Regional Rural Bank with the help of NABARD. The interview will be conducted in select centres. The address of the centres will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter.

The marks for the interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview for Officers Scale, I, II, and III will be as per extant guidelines. Only by qualifying both in the Online Examination (Main/Single) and Common Interview with sufficiently high marks will candidates be shortlisted for subsequent provisional allotment process, the details of which will be made available on the official IBPS website.

Q 1. For which posts can I apply for IBPS RRB Exam?

Ans. You can apply for the post of IBPS RRB Office Assistant (Multipurpose), Officer Scale I, II, and III. However, one can apply only for one post under Officer Scale.

Q 2. What is the duration and marks of the IBPS RRB Exam?

Ans. IBPS RRB Prelims Exam will be of 45 minutes of 80 marks. The IBPS RRB Mains Exam will be of 200 marks of 2 hours. The duration is different for the IBPS Officer Scale Post.

Q 3. Is there negative marking for IBPS RRB Exam?

Ans. Yes, there is a penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. There is negative marking for prelims, mains, and single written test exams under RRB.

Q 4. Is there a sectional cut-off in IBPS RRB Exam?

Ans. Yes, there is a sectional cut-off for the IBPS RRB exam for all the posts.
