IBPS Clerk Syllabus 2023 and Exam Pattern
IBPS Clerk exam is no different from any other bank exam. While IBPS issues only the broad subjects, they can be further sub-divided into individual topics, based on the questions that have appeared in the exams over the past few years. The IBPS Clerk syllabus has two papers. There is no interview for the IBPS Clerk Exam.
(i) IBPS Clerk Preliminary Exam Syllabus
IBPS Clerk Preliminary Exam Syllabus comprises three sections broadly: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language.
(ii) IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Syllabus
IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Syllabus comprises of four Sections broadly: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, and an additional section of Computer Knowledge and General Awareness.
There will be a negative marking of 0.25 for every incorrect answer in IBPS Exam 2023.
IBPS Clerk 2023 Prelims Exam Pattern
The IBPS Prelims Exam is of 100 marks of 1-hour duration with 20 minutes for each section.
- The Prelims Stage of IBPS PO will have three sections of a total duration of 1 Hour.
- There will be a total of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Candidates will have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks individually for each section to be decided by IBPS.
- An adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

IBPS Clerk 2023 Mains Exam Pattern
The IBPS Clerk Mains Exam has 190 questions that need to be completed in a time frame of 160 minutes.
- The IBPS Clerk Mains Exam will have a total of 190 questions with a duration of 160 Minutes.
- There will be four sections in the IBPS Clerk Exam for Mains with different sectional timings.
- Earlier, the Computer Aptitude and Reasoning Ability Sections used to be conducted separately. But, as per the recent update by IBPS, both these sections have been amalgamated together constituting a total of 50 Marks.
