According to the SBI Clerk 2025 selection process, the State Bank of Conducts the SBI Clerk Local Language Test for all the candidates who qualified Mains exam. The LPT checks a candidate’s ability to read, write, and speak the regional language. It is mandatory to qualify this test to move forward in the recruitment process. Although the LPT doesn’t carry marks and doesn’t affect the final merit list, failing it will lead to disqualification, regardless of how well a candidate performed in the earlier stages.

Candidates who can show valid proof of having studied the local language in school (up to Class 10 or 12) may be exempted from taking the LPT. However, the decision to exempt a candidate depends on the Bank’s discretion.

1. Comprehension Based: The candidates will be given an unseen passage or paragraph, from which they will have to answer questions.
2. Error Spotting: They will have to find the incorrect spellings, grammars, and language usage in the given paragraph.
3. Synonyms and Antonyms: They will be given specific words for which they will be asked the synonyms or antonyms.
4. Translation: They will be given a passage, they will be asked to translate the paragraph in the local language.
5. Multiple Choice Questions: Few MCQs will be asked which will assess the knowledge of the candidates in the local language.
