Who Has to Appear for SBI Clerk LPT 2026?

The following candidates are required to appear for the SBI Clerk Local Language Test:

  • Candidates who are provisionally selected after the Mains examination.
  • Candidates who have not studied the specified local language in Class 10th or 12th.

Details About the Verbal and Non-Verbal Test

The test is divided into two main parts: Non-Verbal Test and Verbal Test.

1. Non-Verbal Test: This section is further divided into: Objective and Subjective Sections.

Objective section: Includes 3 passages. Each passage has 5 questions, making a total of 15 questions and carries 15 marks in total.
Subjective Section: Also includes 3 passages. Each passage has 5 questions, totalling 15 questions and carries 15 marks.

2. Verbal Test: This part of the test does not specify passages or the number of questions. It carries a total of 20 marks

When is SBI Clerk LPT Conducted?

The Local Language Proficiency Test is conducted after the Main Examination and provisional selection but before joining the Bank. Candidates are first required to qualify the Prelims and Mains examination. Those who clear the Main examination are shortlisted for the Language Proficiency Test, which is qualifying in nature.
