List of War Memorials in India

1. National War Memorial, New Delhi

The National War Memorial is a monument built by the Government of India near India Gate, New Delhi, to honor the soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces. National War Memorial is spread over 40 acres of land and is built around the existing chhatri (canopy). It is located near India Gate.

2. Tawang War Memorial, Arunachal Pradesh

Tawang War Memorial is 40- foot high multi-hued memorial, it is dedicated to the war heroes of the Sino-India war that took place in the year 1962. It is also known as Namgyal Chorten, the structure is similar to the design of a huge stupa.

3. Kargil War Memorial Dras

This war memorial is situated on the Srinagar-Leh highway. It has been built in the memory of the soldiers and officers of the Indian Army who laid down their lives during the India-Pakistan conflict in 1999 (Kargil War). The memorial is located in Dras, in the foothills of Tololing Hill.

4. Victory at Sea Memorial, Visakhapatnam

This war Memorial was constructed after the Indo-Pak war of 1971. The memorial is dedicated to the sacrifice made by soldiers of the Indian Navy during the 1971 Liberation War (of Bangladesh).

5. National War Memorial, Pune

National War Memorial, Pune war memorial in Pune Cantonment dedicated to the post Independence war martyrs. The memorial in Pune is the only war memorial in South Asia that has been erected by the contributions of the citizens.

6. Shaurya Smark, Bhopal

Shaurya Smarak is a war memorial situated at Bhopal. It was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on 14 October 2016. In the park, there is a 62-feet high sculpture rising from the ground called Shaurya Stambh depicting the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.
