CAPF AC Syllabus 2024

Paper 1: General Ability and Intelligence

The objective-type questions with multiple choices in this paper will broadly cover the following areas:

  • Knowledge of the Five Year Plans provides insights into India’s economic development strategies. Panchayati Raj focuses on local governance through village councils, while cooperatives and community development highlight initiatives for rural progress. 
  • Nationalism and freedom movement
  • Topics related to the growth and historical movements for freedom.
Indian and World Geography
  • These topics cover fundamental aspects of Earth science and geography. They include the Earth’s structure and movements like latitudes, longitudes, and the concept of time.
  • Other topics explore natural phenomena such as earthquakes, volcanoes, ocean currents, and climate patterns.
  • The syllabus also consists atmospheric processes like temperature, pressure, winds, cyclones, and humidity. .

Paper-II: General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension

The UPSC CAPF Paper 2 consists of descriptive-type questions that candidates must answer following the Commission’s guidelines. This section carries 200 marks and assesses candidates language proficiency, comprehension, and essay-writing skills. Candidates will appear in Paper 2 only if they meet the CAPF Cut Off in Paper 1. Candidates who pass the written examination will undergo physical standards tests (PST). Those who meet the required physical standards will proceed to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

After passing the written online exam, eligible candidates will move on to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) stage. Candidates who meet the physical standards set by UPSC CAPF will undergo assessment through these tests. The PET evaluates candidates based on their physical abilities to ensure they meet the required standards for fitness and endurance. CAPF AC Interview/Personality Test

Candidates who successfully clear the CAPF AC written exam and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be eligible to participate in the interview and personality test. The interview process conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) carries 150 points.

UPSC will notify candidates who pass the Medical Standard Tests to arrange for their interview and personality test. Candidates who are medically unfit but allowed to appear before a “Review Medical Board” will also be required to undergo the interview and personality test.
