- A valid degree from any recognised university is required.
- Integrated dual degree (IDD) holders need to check their passing date. Final-year students can apply provisionally but must pass before joining.
- Ex-servicemen with specific certificates after 15 years of service are eligible.
- Computer literacy is needed for the SBI Clerk exam.
Nationality
- Indian citizenship is required.
- Candidates can also be citizens of Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugees arriving before January 1, 1962, or Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) from specific countries.

SBI Clerk Salary 2025
The SBI Clerk Salary pay scale ranges from Rs.24050 1340/3-28070-1650/3-33020-2000/4-41020-2340/7-57400 4400/1-61800-2680/1-64480. The starting salary is around Rs. 26,730 per month, and the total starting emoluments of a Clerical Cadre employee payable will be approximately Rs. 46,000/- per month inclusive of D.A., other allowances at the current rate.
Newly recruited clerks undergo a probation period of 6 months, during which their performance is assessed. If an employee performs below expectations, their probation period may be extended.
