The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the results for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (NDA I/ NA I) Examination 2024 on 09th May, 2024, on its website. The exam, held on 21st April 2024, had candidates appearing for positions in the Indian Armed Forces. 

Those who passed the written exam need to sign up online on the Indian Army website within two weeks. After that, they will be assigned places and dates for SSB Interviews. During these interviews, they have to provide necessary documents. Selected candidates move on to the next phase, the SSB Interview round. NDA 1 Result 2024

The NDA 1 Result 2024 is divided into two parts:

NDA 1 Exam-Overview

The NDA 1 Exam consists 2 papers:

• General Ability Test (GAT)

There were a total of 270 questions: 120 in Mathematics and 150 in GAT. The exam was worth 900 marks, with 300 for Mathematics and 600 for GAT. Candidates had 5 hours in total to complete the exam, with each paper requiring 2.5 hours.

Note: For wrong answers, Mathematics deducted 1/3 of the mark, while GAT deducted 0.83.

NDA Qualifying Marks 2024

To pass the NDA exam in 2024, candidates need to score at least 25% marks in each subject. For the General Ability Test (GAT), which is out of 600 marks, they must secure a minimum of 150 marks. In the Mathematics paper, which is out of 300 marks, they need at least 75 marks to qualify. However, just meeting these minimum marks is not enough to be included in the final NDA merit list for 2024. Candidates also need to achieve the required NDA result cutoff to secure admission.

NDA Result Score Calculation

The UPSC uses a specific marking scheme to calculate candidates scores in the NDA exam. Here’s how it is:

• For the General Ability Test (GAT): Each correct answer earns the candidate 4 marks. Each incorrect answer deducts 0.33 marks. The score for GAT is calculated as:
• Total score = (Number of correct answers × 4) – (Number of incorrect answers × 0.33)
• For the Mathematics section: Each correct answer earns the candidate 2.5 marks. Each incorrect answer deducts 0.33 marks. The score for Mathematics is calculated as:
• Total score = (Number of correct answers × 2.5) – (Number of incorrect answers × 0.33)

Candidates final scores are determined based on these calculations for both the GAT and Mathematics sections of the NDA exam.

After NDA 1 Results 2024 Are Declared: What To Do Next

After the NDA Result 2024 is announced, candidates who qualify for the interview exam must follow specific procedures. Within 20 days of the written results, they need to submit their original certificates to the respective service headquarters.

• Those who choose the Army as their first choice should submit their certificates to the Army Headquarters in New Delhi.
• Candidates preferring Navy/Naval Academy as their first preference must submit their certificates to the Naval Headquarters in New Delhi.
• Candidates who select the Air Force as their top choice should submit their certificates to the Air Headquarters in New Delhi.

The NDA 1 selection process consists of two stages: Stage I and Stage II. Only candidates who pass Stage I (the written exam) can proceed to Stage II. Stage II includes Interviews, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests, and a Conference, which span four days.
