AFCAT Full Form

AFCAT Full Form: AFCAT can be regarded as the gateway to IAF (Indian Air Force Services ), the Full Form of AFCAT is Air Force Common Admission Test. AFCAT is a national-level competitive exam conducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF) to select officers for all its branches, except for the medical and dental branches. This Exam is conducted Twice every year to select the excellent among the best, generally, it is conducted in February and one more time in August. The selection is done under 3 branches namely

Flying Branch: The Flying Branch consists of Fighters, Transports, and Helicopters.

Technical Branch: The Technical Branch deals with the Mechanical and Electronic aspects

Ground Duty Branch: The Ground Duty Branch comprises of Administration, Accounts, Logistics, Education and Meteorology.

There are two types of commissions under which a candidate can apply for the Indian Air Force – the Permanent Commission (PC), and the Short Service Commission (SSC).

The Permanent Commission refers to a career in the Indian Air Force until retirement. The short service commission means a limited period career in the IAF. The term for the SSC is 14 years

AFCAT Full Form: Eligibility for AFCAT

The following criteria are applicable for both male and female candidates who are appearing for the AFCAT. Let us look at the different eligibility criteria of the AFCAT Exam for different branches-

Age Criteria
Flying Branch	20 to 24 years at the time of commencement. If the candidate has a valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by the DGCA of India, the age limit is relaxed up to 26 years.
Technical Branch and Ground Duty Branch	20-26 years at the time of commencement.
Nationality – Indian
Marital Status – Unmarried

AFCAT Full Form: AFCAT Educational Qualification

Candidates who have completed a three-year or four-year course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks. The candidate should have studied Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.

Students who are in their final year are also eligible to apply, as long as they do not have any backlog at the time of the Testing and produce their Degree certificate issued by the University before the stipulated date in the advertisement.

AFCAT Full Form: Procedure to Get into IAF

AFCAT – Clear the aptitude exam i.e. AFCAT, which is conducted twice a year
AFSB-SSB Interview involves a two-step procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test which will be held at Selection Centres. All the candidates will face the stage one test on the first day of reporting at the Selection Centres. The candidates who qualify in stage one will be admitted to the second stage/remaining tests. Those who fail to pass stage one will be returned on the same date. After five days stay final results are called out during the conference. Candidates who fail in getting recommended are sent backpacking to home
Medicals – Once declared medically fit, it is highly probable that the candidate would go on to the AFA for a 48-week long training before being inducted into the force. However medical failed candidates can ask for a review board depending upon the type of unfitness declared.

AFCAT वायु सेना कॉमन एडमिशन टेस्ट होता है । AFCAT एक राष्ट्रीय स्तर की प्रतियोगी परीक्षा है जो भारतीय वायु सेना (IAF) द्वारा चिकित्सा और दंत चिकित्सा शाखाओं को छोड़कर, अपनी सभी शाखाओं के लिए अधिकारियों का चयन करने के लिए आयोजित की जाती है। यह परीक्षा हर साल दो बार सर्वश्रेष्ठ में से उत्कृष्ट का चयन करने के लिए आयोजित की जाती है, आमतौर पर यह फरवरी में और एक बार अगस्त में आयोजित की जाती है।
