SBI Probationary Officer Vacancy 2025

This year, the State Bank of India announced 541 vacancies for the post of Probationary Officer. Of the total 203 is for the General category, 135 for Other Backwards Class (OBC), 50 for EWS and 80 & 73 for SC & ST, respectively.

SBI PO Apply Online 2025 Form

The SBI PO Apply Online 2025 process is currently underway on the official State Bank of India website – www.sbi.co.in. Candidates interested in applying must complete the online form, upload the necessary documents (including a photograph, signature, and left thumb impression), and pay the applicable fee based on their category. SBI PO Age Limit (As of 1/4/2025)

To apply for the SBI PO 2025 exam, candidates must be between 21 and 30 years old as of April 1, 2025. This means they should have been born between April 2, 1995, and April 1, 2004. Candidates from reserved categories can get age relaxation as per government rules.

1. The candidates must hold Indian Citizenship
2. A Subject of Nepal or Bhutan
3. A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement
4. A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, or Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India

Note: Candidates belonging to categories 2, 3, and 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India in their favor if willing to apply for SBI PO 2025.

SBI PO Qualification (As on 30/9/2025)

1. A candidate must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government.
2. Final Year/Semester candidates can also apply only if they produce proof of their graduation on the date of the interview.

Number of Attempts in SBI PO Exam

• UR / EWS: 4 chances/attempts
• UR (PwBD)/EWS (PwBD)/OBC/OBC (PwBD): 7 chances/attempts
• SC/ST (including PwBD): No limit

• Appearing only in the Preliminary Exam will not be counted as an attempt.
• Appearing in the Main Exam will be considered an attempt.
• If only one written exam (no prelims) was held in a particular year, then appearing in that exam counts as one attempt.

Negative Marking SBI PO Prelims and Mains Exam

In both the SBI PO Prelims and Mains exams, negative marking is applicable for wrong answers in the objective tests. For every incorrect answer, 0.25 marks (¼th of the marks assigned to the question) are deducted. However, there is no penalty for unanswered questions.
