The candidates willing to apply for SBI PO 2024 must ensure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements before initiating the SBI PO online application form. The eligibility criteria are different for different positions for which the candidates are selected through the SBI PO 2024 Exam. There are three main parameters of SBI PO eligibility that include nationality, age limit and educational qualification on which a candidate is judged to be eligible for the SBI PO Exam. SBI PO Nationality/ Citizenship

A candidate willing to apply for SBI PO 2024 must be from one of the below-listed categories:

  1. The candidates must hold Indian Citizenship
  2. A Subject of  Nepal or  Bhutan
  3. A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement
  4. A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India

SBI PO Educational Qualification

The candidate must be a Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final year/Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for an interview, they must produce proof of having passed the graduation examination. Candidates with Chartered Accountant certification may also apply.

SBI PO Age Limit

The candidate must be 21 Years to 30 Years i.e. candidates must be below 21 years and should be below 30 Years. This is in case of General category candidates. The candidates belonging to reserved category have been provided age relaxation as mentioned in the table below.

(SSCOs) who have rendered 5 years military service and have been
released on completion of assignment (including those whose
assignment is due to be completed within 6 months from the last date
of receipt of application) otherwise than by way of dismissal or
discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or physical disability
attributable to military service or invalided.

SBI PO Eligibility: Number of Attempts

The SBI has established certain guidelines regarding the number of attempts allowed for the SBI PO 2024 examination. These guidelines are designed to ensure fairness in the selection process and to give candidates a reasonable number of opportunities to compete for the prestigious role of a Probationary Officer. Here’s an overview of the SBI PO number of attempts:

General/EWS Category Candidates: Generally, candidates belonging to the general category are allowed 4 number of attempts to appear for the SBI PO examination.

Reserved Category Candidates: For Candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC (Scheduled Castes), ST (Scheduled Tribes), there is no attempt limit.

OBC/PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) Candidates: PwBD candidates have 7 attempts and age relaxation as per the government guidelines and the specific provisions outlined in the official SBI PO notification.

Validity of Attempts:

  • The number of attempts is generally counted from the year when the candidate first appears for the SBI PO exam. If a candidate exceeds the allowed number of attempts, they may not be eligible to apply for the examination in subsequent years.
