Is there a Sectional Cut Off in the SBI Clerk Exam 2025?
No, there is no sectional cut off in the Prelims and Mains Examination, only overall cut off marks are considered while determining the merit list of candidates. However, the overall cut off may vary for different states due to difficulty level, normalization process, number of vacancies, etc.
SBI Clerk Cut Off Calculation and Normalisation
SBI conducts the Clerk Mains exam in multiple shifts and days, where the difficulty level of questions may vary from one shift to another. To ensure fairness, SBI uses a normalization process to adjust scores across different shifts. Normalization is a method used to bring all candidates to the same performance level, no matter which shift they appeared in.
How it affects the SBI Clerk Mains Cut-off:
The final cut-off is based on normalized scores, not raw marks. So even if you attempted fewer questions than someone in another shift, your score might still be higher after normalization if your shift was more difficult. This makes it crucial for candidates to focus on accuracy and smart attempts, not just high attempts. This helps ensure that no candidate is at an advantage or disadvantage due to shift-level differences.
