What is the IBPS PO Exam?
IBPS PO 2025 marks the 15th edition of the recruitment drive for Probationary Officer (PO) and Management Trainee positions. It remains a popular choice among banking aspirants seeking a stable and rewarding career. The selection process involves three stages:

Candidates who want to appear for the upcoming IBPS Probationary Officer exam in 2025 should check that they fulfill the IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria. Also, consider the age relaxation provided for the reserved categories.
Nationality
The applicant for applying for the exam can be:
- A Citizen of India
- The subject of Nepal or Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee who permanently settled in India before January 1, 1962
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Zaire, or Zambia, intending to reside in India permanently.
Educational Qualification (21/7/2025)
Candidates need to have the following academic qualifications:
Graduation Degree:
- The eligibility requirement for the IBPS CRP exam is a graduation degree (such as BA, BCom, BSc, B.Tech, or similar) from a university recognised by the Government of India. Candidates who have obtained an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government are also eligible.
- Applicants must possess a valid mark sheet or degree certificate proving their graduate status on the day of registration and must provide the percentage of marks obtained in their graduation while registering for the IBPS Bank-PO exam.
Computer Literacy:
Proficiency in computer systems is essential both for the job and for taking the IBPS PO exam, which is conducted online.
Age Limit (As on 1/7/2025)
Applicants must be between the ages of 20 to 30 years at the time of registration. Eligible candidates should have birthdates between 02.07.1995 and 01.07.2005, inclusive of both dates. Check the age relaxation criteria for the various categories below.

IBPS PO Number of Attempts
There is no fixed limit on the number of attempts for the IBPS PO Exam as long as you meet the eligibility criteria, especially the age limit. Candidates can apply for the exam multiple times until they reach the maximum age limit, which is 20 to 30 years for the General category (with age relaxation for reserved categories).
So, the number of attempts depends on your age, not on any set attempt cap. However, it is important to keep improving your preparation each time you apply to increase your chances of success.

The application fee provided below is to be paid by the candidates while applying online. The fee can be paid online through a Debit/Credit card, UPI, or any other wallet option provided by the IBPS. Note that this fee is non-refundable, and the fee amount relaxation is provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories.

IBPS PO Selection Process 2025
The candidates will be appointed based on their performance in the three stages of the Probationary officer Exam 2025. There are three stages, according to the IBPS PO Selection Process 2025.

To get selected, the candidates will have to score a section cut-off as well as an overall cut-off. The prelims round is qualifying, while the mains exam requires the minimum cut-off marks to appear for the interview round.
New Change: Introduction of Personality Test
Candidates who clear the Main exam will now have to take a Personality Test (self-assessment). This test helps create a personality profile, which will be shared with the interview panel. It is not a qualifying test, meaning your marks in it won’t affect your result directly. However, taking the Personality Test is compulsory to be eligible for the interview round.

Note: The marking scheme has been changed from the previous scheme, for example: 5 marks have been deducted from the Quant section, and those 5 marks have been added to the Reasoning sections. So, the new scheme is Quantitative Aptitude weighs 30 Marks and Reasoning Ability weighs 40 marks.

IBPS PO Interview 2025
The interview is the final stage of the PO Exam.
- Candidates qualifying with good marks in the Prelims and Mains of the IBPS PO exam will finally be appearing for the interview process.
- The interview round is 100 marks.
- The final score obtained by candidates in the exam is calculated by IBPS with the weightage of marks given to the main examination and interview ratio of 80:20, respectively.
