What happens after the RBI Assistant Prelims Result is announced?

The following events will proceed after the release of the Prelims Result:

• RBI will release the Mains Admit Card for qualified candidates before the Mains exam.
• Candidates will appear for the RBI Assistant Mains Exam of 200 marks with a duration of 135 minutes.
• Candidates qualifying the Mains exam will be called for the Language Proficiency Test (LPT).
• The final merit list will be prepared based only on the marks scored in the Mains examination.

RBI Assistant Prelims Score Card 2026

As already mentioned, the Prelims score card is expected to be released later in June 2026, along with the cut-off marks. The Prelims marks will be published online on the RBI website in the Opportunities section.

Candidates who appeared for the examination will be able to view their section-wise marks, overall score, and qualifying status by logging in with their registration details.

Along with the scorecard, RBI will also release the state-wise and category-wise cut-off marks for the Preliminary Examination.

RBI Assistant Selection Process 2026

The selection has the following stages:

1. Prelims: Qualifying stage. Marks are NOT counted in the final merit.
2. Mains: This is the main exam. Your Mains marks decide your final rank and selection.
3. Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Qualifying. You must know the local/regional language of the state you applied for.

RBI Assistant Mains Exam Pattern 2026

Like the Preliminary exam, the Mains will also be conducted in online mode and will consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions. The total duration of the exam will be 2 hours and 15 minutes. It will include 200 questions divided across five sections, as detailed in the table below.

RBI Assistant Local Language Test 2026

Upon qualifying Prelims and Mains, RBI will test the local language knowledge of the candidates. Since there is no interview, candidates who have not studied the local language in 10th/12th standards will be called for the Local Language Proficiency Test. They must speak, write, and understand the language of the region they applied for.

As per the revised pay scale (Rs. 29,000 – 1700 (3) – 34,100 – 2040 (4) – 42,260 – 2720 (6) – 58,580 – 2950 (2) – 64,480 – 3370 (3) – 74,590 – 4050 (1) – 78,640), the in-hand gross salary of an Assistant at RBI is Rs. 58,514/-. Along with basic salary, an Assistant receives allowances like HRA, DA, etc.
