What After CRPF Exam? Check PST/PMT Procedure

Central Reserve Police Force conducted CRPF Head Constable and ASI exam from 22nd February to 28th February 2023. This exam is being conducted to recruit candidates for a total of 1458 vacancies. Now the candidates will move further to the next phase of the selection process. CRPF Recruitment Selection Process

The 1458 CRPF Vacancies for the recruitment of Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer) and Head Constable (Ministerial) will be filled through an established selection procedure consisting of different stages discussed below –

  1. Computer-Based Test 
  2. Skill Test
  3. Physical Standard Test
  4. Document Verification
  5. Detailed Medical Examination

CRPF Skill Test

Only candidates who qualify for the Computer-Based Test of the CRPF Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer) and Head Constable (Ministerial) Exam 2023 will be able to move further to the next stage of the CRPF Official Recruitment 2023 which is Skill Test.

This Skill Test and the other stages will be conducted at various centres of the CRPF. Check the details below –

Skill Test on Computer for Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer)
  • Dictation: 10 minutes at 80 words per minute.
  • Transcription Time: 50 minutes in English or 65 minutes in Hindi on the computer.
Skill Test on Computer for Head Constable (Ministerial)
  • English Typing with a minimum speed of 35 words per minute on a computer (or) Hindu typing with a minimum speed of 30 words per minute on a computer.

(35 words per minute in English and 30 words per minute in Hindi corresponding to 10,500 key depressions per hour in English; 9,000 key depressions per hour in Hindi with an average of 5 key depressions for each word on computer).

  • This Skill Test of typing will be of qualifying in nature with no marking scheme as such.
  • Each error, including spelling mistakes, omissions of words, punctuation marks, repeated words, words differing from the test or actual passage, words not in the passage and mixing up of words, etc., will be counted as a mistake.
  • Mistakes equaling 5 percent of the words in the passage actually typed by the candidate will be allowed or permissible.
  • For each mistake beyond 5 percent of the permissible limit, 10 words will be subtracted or deducted from the total words typed by the candidate to assess the actual typing speed. (for HC (Ministerial) only).
  • Candidates who applied for Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer) will be tested in Stenography or Short hand tests as mentioned above.
  • The dictation will have to be noted or taken by the candidates themselves in shorthand strokes and the same will also be evaluated.
  • Noting or taking dictation in long hand, i.e. other than standard shorthand strokes, will not be accepted and such candidates will be declared failed in the skill test even if they transcribe correctly in the given time.
  • Beyond 40 mistakes, which is 5 per cent of 800 words in 10 minutes of dictation at 80 words per minute, candidates will be declared as ‘Failed’ (For ASI(Steno) alone).

CRPF Physical Standard Test

After typing test, Physical Standard Test will be conducted by CRPF which will not carry any marks but will be of a qualifying nature through which further candidates will be eliminated and some will get the chance to go further the selection process of CRPF.

CRPF Document Verification

After clearing CBT, Skill Test, and PST, Candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification. Important details related to document verification are as follows –

  • Candidates need to carry the original documents as well as the photocopies
  • Two passport-size colour photographs and their original photo id card such as aadhar card/ voter’s id /pan card/passport and so on.
  • Photocopies of 10th/ 12th certificate
  • Caste/Category Certi{icate, if belongs to reserved categories in the prescribed format.
  • Certificate from District Collector/ District Magistrate in respect of dependent applicants of riot victims.

For further clarification, candidates are advised to go through the official notification. 

CRPF Detailed Medical Examination (DME)

The shortlisted candidates will have to go through a medical examination conducted by the Medical Officer/Medical Board in which their physical and medical fitness will be assessed in detail.

  • Candidates must be aware that “Temporary unfitness” will not be allowed.
  • There will be certain exceptions for female candidates which they can check in official notification.
  • Candidate must not have Knock knee, flat foot, a squint in eyes or varicose vein and they should possess high colour vision.
  • There will be specific guidelines in terms of eye sights and tattoos too.
