1. Tata Safari Storme 4×4:

3193 units ordered in May 2017 (GS800 category).
The Safari will replace Maruti Gypsy in Indian Army
The exterior is green while the interiors of the vehicle are beige making it a unique combination.

2. Maruti Gypsy 4X4

Additional 4,200 ordered in October 2014.
It will soon be replaced by Tata Safari Storme
it failed to comply new safety and emission regulations.

3. Tata LPTA 713 TC (Medium 4X4 Truck)

Commonly known as 2.5 Ton truck in Army
Manufactured by Vehicle Factory Jabalpur.
It is a light utility Truck.
Its payload capacity is 2500.

4. Ashok Leyland Stallion Mk III/Mk IV (4×4 and 6×6 Truck)

5 Ton trucks, in a wide range of configurations
Manufactured by Vehicle Factory Jabalpur.
A wide range configuration of these vehicles is used by army.

5. BEML Tatra (8×8)

They are used for transporting personnels,tanks,missiles etc
They are developed by Tatra Trucks
They are deployed for all Terrain programs.

6. Ashok Leyland Super Stallion (6X6, 8X8, 10X10)

Super stallion range is of heavy duty vehicles.
it can operate under difficult weather conditions.
It is fitted with indigenous designed Hub reduction axels.

7. KrAZ-6322 (Heavy Utility Truck)

These are mainly used for transportation of personnel of military units and cargos.
Can also be used for moving aircrafts
It is intended for extreme conditions.

Recently because of rising tension at Indian-Pakistan border, Indian Army is looking for close to 200 armored fighting vehicles for deployment in different sectors in the frontier with Pakistan.

The Indian army has recently announced its plan to procure 198 wheeled armoured fighting vehicles (AFV) for reconnaissance and support to tank regiments in mechanised warfare. The vehicles are would be replacing the army’s ageing Soviet origin BRDM combat reconnaissance patrol vehicles.
