CDS 2025 Selection Process

The Selection Process of the CDS examination is very demanding and require proper commitment to clear the exam. The CDS Selection Process includes three stages. The first stage is of Written Examination. Those Candidates who will qualify the CDS Written Exam are called for the Second stage of CDS, SSB Interview. Those Candidates who get recommended in the SSB Interview have to appear for the Medical Examination.  Only those candidates who are able to clear all three stages are finally Merit  in to recruit the candidates into their choice of Academy.

  • Written Examination: Candidates must pass a multiple-choice written test covering subjects like English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics.
  • Interview/Personality Test: Successful candidates from the written exam undergo an interview and personality assessment by the Services Selection Board (SSB) to evaluate their officer-like qualities and leadership skills.
  • Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates provide original documents for verification, including educational certificates and age proof.
  • Medical Examination: Candidates passing the interview undergo a medical exam at a Military Hospital to assess their physical fitness.
  • Final Merit List: Selection is based on performance in the written exam, interview, and medical tests. Candidates are assigned seats in academies based on their ranks.

The CDS Exam Pattern consists of English, General Knowledge, Mathematics. The CDS Exam is conducted in three shifts. The duration of exam is 2 hours and maximum marks are 100 for each subject.
