Steps to Apply for WBP Constable Recruitment 2024
- Visit the official website of West Bengal Police Recruitment Board at https://prb.wb.gov.in/.
- Click on “Recruitment” and then on View details of Recruitment to the post of Constables in West Bengal Police – 2024.
- Click the “Get Details” button for “Fill up the Application form online,” which will lead you to a new page. On that page, navigate to the section titled “Ongoing Recruitment” and select “The Post of Constables in WBP 2024.”
- After that click on Apply Online and sign up for registration purposes.
- After registration, fill out the application form by providing details, uploading documents, and payment of the application.
- Submit the form and take a printout of it.
WBP Constable Application Fee 2024
The application fee to be paid online for the application form is 170/- and reserved category candidates have to pay Rs. 20/-. This fee is non-refundable and, notably, no exemption is provided to e SC/ST candidates of other States.

WBP Constable Eligibility Criteria 2024

WBP Constable Qualification
- Educational Qualification: The candidate must have completed the Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
- Language Requirement: The applicant should possess proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the Bengali language. However, this requirement is waived for individuals who are permanent residents of the hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts. For applicants from the hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts, the regulations specified in the West Bengal Official Language Act, 1961 shall apply.

WBP Constable Selection Process

| Stage 1 | Written Examination: Eligible applicants will have to appear for a Written Exam which consists of objective type multiple choice questions. The exam consists of 85 questions carrying 85 marks and there is a negative marking of 1/4th mark. |
| Stage 2 | Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Candidates qualifying the Written Examination will proceed to the PMT which evaluates height, weight, and chest (for males). |

| Stage 4 | Interviews: This stage assesses candidates’ general awareness and suitability for public service. Proficiency in Bengali/Nepali language will also be evaluated. |
WB Police Constable Exam Pattern 2024
The WBP Constable Exam Pattern 2024 has been shared here. The exam shall be an OMR-based exam that consists of MCQ-type questions and each question carries 1 mark. Also, note that there is a negative marking of 0.25 or 1/4th mark for each wrong answer. The total duration of the exam is 1 hour or 60 minutes. WB Police Constable Syllabus 2024
The WBP Constable Syllabus 2024Â consists of the following subjects:

Candidates are required to prepare each subject properly, in order to get good marks in the written exam which will eventually help in clearing the cut off. Each subject includes topics that the candidates have to go through and prepare according to their weaknesses and strengths. Give more emphasis on the areas where your preparation is weak. WBP Constable Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is conducted to test the physical ability/efficiency of the candidates for the Constable post. The job profile of a constable includes patrolling and handling on-site jobs that require physical strength, so it is being assessed to check suitability. The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) will release the WB Police Constable 2024 Admit Card for the Written exam and other examination stages separately on its official website.
