Important Tips and Exam Day Guidelines for RBI Assistant
Candidates must follow these exam day guidelines for a smooth examination process:
- Verify the date, time, and venue on your call letter and, if possible, visit the centre a day in advance.
- Late entry to the exam hall will not be permitted.
- Carry your call letter with a recent photo affixed, along with an original photo ID and a photocopy. Ensure the names match exactly.
- Strictly follow the instructions given by the invigilator/RBI staff; any misconduct may lead to disqualification.
- Do not bring calculators, notes, books, mobile phones, or any electronic gadgets to the venue.
- Biometric verification (thumb impression and photograph) will be conducted, so keep your fingers clean and dry.
- Adhere to the prescribed dress code: light clothes, half sleeves, slippers/sandals, and no metal accessories.
- Carry a ball-point pen. A rough sheet will be provided and must be returned after the exam.
- Candidates wearing customary/religious attire or PwBD candidates should report early for smooth frisking.
- Maintain discipline, avoid sharing personal items, and leave the venue in an orderly manner after the exam.
RBI Assistant Selection Process 2026
The RBI conducts the RBI Assistant recruitment in three stages to select candidates for clerical roles across its regional offices.
1) Preliminary Exam
This is the first stage of the recruitment process, and the exam pattern is provided above. It is conducted mainly to shortlist candidates from a large number of applicants and serves as a qualifying stage only.
2) Mains Exam
This stage decides the selection and merit of the Prelims-qualified candidates. The mains exam details are already shared above.
3) Local Language Proficiency Test
Candidates who qualify in the Mains must appear for the Language Proficiency Test. Conducted in the official/local language of the RBI office applied for.
