LIC AAO Exam Pattern 2025

The LIC AAO Prelims and Mains exams will be conducted online mode. The LIC AAO exam is going to have three stages, namely,

  1. Preliminary Exam (or  Phase 1)
  2. Main Exam (or Phase 2)
  3. Interview

LIC AAO Prelims Exam Pattern for Generalist

  1. Preliminary Examination (Phase 1) will be an objective test conducted via online mode
  2. The total duration of the online written exam will be 1 hour or 60 minutes.
  3. There is no negative marking

Generalist Post Prelims Exam Pattern 2025

There is no sectional cut-off in the Prelims exam for the Generalist Post, but candidates need qualifying marks (as mentioned below).

  1.  Candidates appearing in the prelim exam will be shortlisted for the main examination.
  2. LIC AAO’s main exam consists of an Objective Test (300 marks) & Descriptive Test (25 marks).
  3. Both exams will be conducted online mode.
  4. The descriptive exam will be conducted through typing on the computer.
  5. There is no negative marking
  6. A descriptive paper is only qualifying in nature

LIC AAO Interview 2025 Details

The final stage of the LIC AAO 2025 recruitment process is the Interview (Phase III). Only those candidates who qualify in the Main Examination will be shortlisted for this stage. The interview round is crucial, as the marks obtained here will be added to the main exam marks to prepare the final merit list. Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks to move forward in the selection process.

Details of LIC AAO Interview (Phase III):

  • Conducted only for candidates who clear the Main Exam.
  • The interview carries 60 marks in total. (30 marks – EWS/UR/OBC, 27 marks – SC/ST/PwBDAround three times the number of vacancies will be called for interview, depending on category and merit.)
  • Final Merit List = Marks of Main Examination + Interview Marks.

Tie-breaking rules (if two candidates get the same marks):

  • Higher educational qualifications are given preference
  • If equal, the senior in age ranked higher
