Indian Coast Guard Navik and Yantrik Recruitment 2024, Correction window opens

The Indian Coast Guard has invited candidates who have filled out the application form for CGEPT 01/2025 to edit their application form, if required between 16 July 2024, 09 AM to 17 July 2024, 11 PM on login with their credentials on the official website. The Application form for the Indian Coast Guard Yantrik and Navik was closed on 10th July 2024. ICG gave the opportunity to all the Male Candidates aged between 18 to 22 who has Passed the Matriculation and Intermediate with PCM  to apply for 320 posts of Yantrik and Navik General Duty Respectively.

Indian Coast Guard Navik Recruitment 2024

The Indian Coast Guard is the Maritime law enforcement and search and rescue agency of India with jurisdiction over its territorial waters including its contiguous zone and exclusive economic zone. It Comes under Ministry of Defence. The Coast Guard works in close cooperation with the Indian Navy, the Department of Fisheries, the Department of Revenue (Customs), and the Central Armed Police Forces, and the State Police Services. ICG Navik 2024 Selection Process

The exam for Indian Coast Guard will be conducted in four stages. Candidates will go through four stages for Selection. The first Stage will be Computer Based Test, Candidates who will clear the written examination will have to pass the Physical Fitness Test. Selected candidates will be called for Document Verification and the last stage will be reporting at INS Chilka for the final medical process.

Stage I: Computer Based Examination

  • Conducted to assess candidates knowledge related to the applied post.
  • Includes document verification and biometric recording of left thumb.
  • Checks the candidate’s signature, identification mark, and live image capture.
  • Involves a written test tailored to the specific job role applied for.

Stage II: Qualifying Examinations

  • Includes an Assessment and Adaptability Test conducted through OMR sheets.
  • Requires candidates to pass a Physical Fitness Test involving a 1.6 Km run, Squat ups, and Push ups.
  • Includes thorough verification of original documents.
  • Candidates undergo a Recruitment Medical Examination to ensure fitness for service.

Stage III: Final Merit List Preparation

  • Re-verifies all submitted documents.
  • Prepares a final merit list based on marks obtained in Stage I and available vacancies.

Stage IV: Training and Final Verification

  • Candidates selected in Stage III proceed to training at INS Chilka.
  • Submission of all original documents for final verification.
  • Verification of documents through respective Boards/Universities/State government authorities.
  • Final enrollment contingent upon successful verification of genuine documents.

In the Official Notification released by the Indian Coast Guard, A Total of 320 Vacancies has been released inviting Male candidates only.  ICG has issued 260 Vacancies for Navik General Duty and 60 Vacancies for the post of Yantrik. The vacancies are divided into Zone wise category.

Essential Educational Qualification for Indian Coast Guard

For Indian Coast Guard Navik (GD) 
Class 12th passed with Maths and Physics from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (CBSE)
For Indian Coast Guard Yantrik 
Class 10th passed from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (CBSE) AND and Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics/ Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering of duration 03 or 04 years approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE)
OR
Class 10th& Class 12th passed from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) “AND” Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics/ Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering of duration 02 or 03 years approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

Examination Fee

Candidates, except for SC/ST candidates who do not need to pay any fee, must pay an examination fee of Rs. 300 through online methods such as net banking or using Visa/Master/Maestro/Rupay Credit/Debit Card/UPI. Only candidates who have successfully paid the examination fee and those eligible for fee exemption will receive their admit cards for the examination.

Indian Coast Guard Salary

  • Navik (General Duty):
    • Basic pay: Rs. 21,700 (Pay Level 3)
    • Additional allowances include Dearness Allowance and other allowances based on nature of duty/place of posting as per prevailing regulations.
  • Yantrik:
    • Basic pay: Rs. 29,200 (Pay Level 5)
    • Yantrik pay: Rs. 6,200
    • Additional allowances include Dearness Allowance and other allowances based on nature of duty/place of posting as per prevailing regulations.
