UPSC CSE Mains 2021 Preparation Strategy- Steps to Boost Your Marks in Ethics Paper

  • Allocate an Adequate amount of time

Aspirants often ignore ethics paper as they think they can easily write them. Surely, they are right but only being able to write answers in an ethics paper is not the goal here, rather it should be to secure the maximum possible marks in the Ethics paper. With a little bit of dedicated and intelligent preparation, aspirants can easily secure good marks in the ethics paper.

  • Understanding the Key Concepts and using them in your answers in a simplified manner.

In ethics, aspirants often try to remember various definitions and thinkers. This helps but only to a limited extent. This is because these things make your answer monotonous and copied. This is why aspirants must understand the concepts and then write them in their own language. This gives a sense that you really understand what it means and hence, will be able to implement it in your practical life as an administrator.

  • Use of real-life examples in your answers

Ethics paper checks how deeply you understand different aspects of ethical life. This can aptly be conveyed to the examiner by stating real-life examples of the administrators or other personalities and how they have displayed ethical conduct in their personal and public life. This will surely fetch good marks in the ethics paper.

  • Practice different types of case studies

Case studies generally have more weightage in the ethics paper than other theoretical questions. This is why aspirants must practice multiple types of case studies and learn how to frame their answers as per the demand of the case study.

All the Very Best to all the Civil Services Aspirants who are sweating day and night to make their dream of becoming a civil servant a reality.
