SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2021
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination in three Tiers namely Tier-1, Tier-2, and Tier-3. While SSC CHSL Tier-1 is conducted in Online Mode on the other hand Tier-2 is conducted in Pen and Paper mode and Tier-3 is Computer Skill Test. SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2021: Tiers of Exam
SSC CHSL Comprises three Tiers. Exam Pattern of SSC CHSL is explained below:

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2021: Tier-1
SSC CHSL Ties-1 comprises 100 questions in total with maximum marks of 200. SSC CHSL Tier-1 is of 60 minutes. SSC CHSL Tier-I is divided into four sections with 25 questions each and maximum marks of 50. Normalization will be done by SSC if the exam is conducted in multiple shifts.

- General Knowledge
- Quantitative Aptitude
- General Reasoning
- English Comprehension

Note:- For every wrong question there is a negative marking of 0.5 marks.
SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2021: Tier 2
SSC has decided to conduct a Descriptive Paper for all the candidates who qualify SSC CHSL Tier-1 Examination. SSC CHSL Tier-2 Descriptive Paper (Pen and Paper Mode) is introduced to test the writing skills of the candidates. The paper is in English/Hindi language and will constitute 100 marks. Candidates have to complete the entire paper in 60 minutes.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2021: Tier 3
SSC CHSL Tier-3 Exam is a Computer Skill Test. SSC CHSL Tier-3 test typing skill of candidates, it is called Skill Test in Data Entry (DEST) Test. There are three types of DEST for three different posts namely:
- DEST for DEO other than CA&G: Candidates are required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes i.e., 27 Words Per Minutes (WPM) on a computer in English. This test is conducted to check a candidate’s typing skills. Candidates are given an article in English which they have to type on Computer.
- DEST for DEO in CA&G: Candidates are required to type 3750 words in 15 minutes i.e., 50 WPM on a computer in English. This test is conducted to check a candidate’s typing skills. Candidates are given an article in English which they have to type on Computer.
- DEST for JSA, PA/SA, LDC, and other posts: Candidates are required to type 1750 words in 10 minutes i.e., 35 WPM on a computer in English. This test is conducted to check a candidate’s typing skills. Candidates are given an article in English which they have to type on Computer.
Note:- SSC CHSL Tier-3 is qualifying in nature, no marks will be rewarded for SSC CHSL Tier-3.
Candidates have to do well in all the Tiers i.e., Tier-1 and Tier-2 and Tier-3 of SSC CHSL to get the desired post and location.
