SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2024, New Exam Pattern for Tier 1 and Tier 2

Candidates preparing for the SSC CHSL Exam should have good knowledge of the SSC CHSL Exam Pattern for Tier 1 and Tier 2 Exams. There are two different stages that candidates need to qualify for to get selected for various posts in the SSC CHSL exam and for that candidates must go through the SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2024.

The SSC CHSL Exam will be conducted in a computer-based mode and the questions shall be MCQ type a skill test/typing test will be conducted to assess the typing speed of the candidates and marks will be allotted accordingly. SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2024

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examinations in two Tiers namely Tier-1 and Tier-2. While SSC CHSL Tier-1 is conducted in Online Mode on the other hand Tier-2 is conducted in Online mode. SSC CHSL comprises two Tiers (stages) and the candidates have to qualify in each of the stages to get shortlisted for the vacancies. The exam Pattern of SSC CHSL 2024 is explained below:

SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2024

According to the SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2024, the SSC CHSL Ties 1 comprises 100 questions in total with a maximum mark of 200. SSC CHSL Tier 1 is of 60 minutes. SSC CHSL Tier I is divided into four sections with 25 questions each and a maximum mark of 50. Normalization will be done by SSC if the exam is conducted in multiple shifts.
The sections asked in the SSC CHSL Tier-I Exam are:

  • General Knowledge
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • General Reasoning
  • English Comprehension

Note:- For every wrong question there is a negative marking of 0.5 marks.

SSC CHSL Tier-2 Exam Pattern 2024 (Revised)

Here, we have provided the revised SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam Pattern as per the notification. Those who qualify for the SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam will have to appear for the SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam. The SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam Pattern consists of 2 sessions which further consist of sections as mentioned below. The questions in Session I shall be MCQ type.

In Session II, there is a typing test/Skill test to assess the typing speed and skill of the candidates.

Section-2: Module-I: English Language and Comprehension and Module-II: General Awareness

Section-3: Module-I: Computer Knowledge Test and Module-II: Skill Test/ Typing Test

  • The questions will be of Objective type in nature in English, Hindi, and any language opted by the candidates.

SSC CHSL Negative Marking

In both the tiers in the CHSL Exam, there is a negative marking. In Tier 1, 0.50 marks are deducted for each wrong answer and in Tier 2, 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section 1, Section,-2 and Module I of Section 3 will be deducted. Therefore, candidates must be careful before selecting any option in the exam.

SSC CHSL 2024 Resolution of Tie Cases

In the case of a tie in scores of candidates who appeared in Tier-I and Tier-II examinations, merit will be decided by applying the following criteria, one after another, till the tie is resolved:

  1. Total marks of the Tier-II Examination.
  2. Total marks in Tier-I Examination.
  3. Date of birth, with the elder candidates, placed higher.
  4. Alphabetical order in which the first names of the candidates appear.
