How Many Marks are Required to Qualify in the SEBI Grade A Exam?

To qualify the SEBI Grade A Phase 1 exam, candidates must clear both sectional cut-offs and the overall cut-off, as prescribed by SEBI.

Phase 1 Qualifying Criteria:

• Paper 1: Minimum sectional cut-off: 30%
• Paper 2: Minimum cut-off: 40%
• Aggregate Cut-Off: Candidates must score at least 40% aggregate marks across Paper 1 and Paper 2 combined to qualify for Phase 1.

Clearing both papers individually is mandatory.

How to Calculate Phase 1 Marks?

The SEBI Grade A exam follows a negative marking scheme. Candidates are awarded 1 mark for every correct answer, while 0.25 mark is deducted for each incorrect response. No penalty for unanswered questions.

Formula to Calculate Score = (Correct Answers × 1) – (Wrong Answers × 0.25)

Candidates must secure the minimum sectional cut-off as well as the overall cut-off marks to qualify for the next stage of the SEBI Grade A exam.
