IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern

IBPS Clerk 2020 is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection to select eligible candidates for the post of Clerk every year. With the release of Official Notification, the Recruitment Process of IBPS Clerk 2020 will start in September 2020.
The recruitment process to select Specialist Officer through IBPS Clerk 2020 is done in two phases:

  • Online Preliminary Exam,
  • Online Mains Exam.

A candidate must qualify both preliminary exam and mains exam to get your name in the merit list. The candidates selected after the mains are given the appointment letter.

IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern: Important Points

  • The IBPS Clerk 2020 exam pattern for selecting candidates for Clerk is given below.
  • The Mains Examination will have just one more section, i.e. of Current Affair and Computer Knowledge.
  • Only three sections will be asked in the Preliminary Exam of IBPS Clerk 2020 Exam.
  • The score of Preliminary Exam will not be taken into consideration for the final selection. Score of Mains Exam will be taken into consideration for final allotment.
  • There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests.

Note:- Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks decided by IBPS. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Pattern

Candidates who qualify the IBPS Clerk Prelims by clearing the sectional as well as over all cut off  are called for the IBPS Mains exam, which is both qualifying as well as the scoring exam of the IBPS Clerk recruitment. Candidates can check the IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Pattern in the table below:

Note: Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Online Preliminary and Online Main examinations). There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

IBPS Clerk Final Selection

Candidates need to qualify both tiers i.e., Prelims and Mains of the IBPS Clerk to get into the Final List of the IBPS Clerk. However, the Prelims is only Qualifying in nature i.e., prelims marks will not be considered in the final merit of the candidates. Where as, Mains exam is both qualifying as well as scoring in nature i.e., the Final Selection of the candidate depend on the score of the candidate in the Mains exam. The final list will be prepared after scaling the marks of the candidates in to out of 100.
