Instead, the government plans to introduce two additional GS Papers in the UPPSC Mains Exam. The syllabus for these newly added GS papers is yet to be clearly outlined. It is anticipated that these newly introduced UPPSC GS Papers will assess candidates’ knowledge of state-specific matters. Consequently, candidates preparing for the UPPSC PCS Exam should be aware that they no longer need to study specific optional subjects for the UPPSC Mains Exam. Instead, they may need to focus on two state-specific GS subjects for the examination.
This marks the final stage of the UPPSC Exam 2024. Those who clear the Mains exam will be called for the Personnel Interview, which carries 100 Marks. A board appointed by the UPPSC conducts the interview. The purpose of the interview is to assess the candidate’s suitability for a career in state services. During the personality test, candidates are expected to demonstrate knowledge of their academic studies and current events within and outside their state or country. The interview primarily serves as a purposeful conversation, aiming to delve into the candidate’s mental qualities and analytical abilities.
