The marks for the Online Preliminary Examination are calculated using the following steps:

1. The number of questions answered correctly by a candidate is counted. Then, marks are adjusted by deducting penalties for wrong answers to get the Corrected Score.
2. Since the exam is conducted in multiple sessions, the Corrected Scores are adjusted to balance out any small differences in difficulty level across sessions. This process gives the Equated Scores (scores from different sessions are standardised to ensure fairness)\
3. The final scores in each test are rounded off upto two decimal places.
