SSC MTS 2020 Notification: The Staff Service Commission is the responsible body for conduction the Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff (MTS) Exam. It is also known as SSC MTS Exam. SSC MTS Exam is conducted to recruit candidates in the General Central Service Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in various Ministries/
Departments/ Offices of the Government of India, in different States/Union Territories.

Going by the SSC Exam Calendar, the SSC MTS 2020 registration was supposed to released from June 2 to July 15, 2020. But due to COVID-19 lock down and hindrance in the office work, the SSC MTS is going to release the notification in June 2020.

SSC MTS 2020 Notification

Every year lakhs of candidates appear for the SSC MTS Exam. In 2019, approximately 38 lakh candidates had appeared for the Exam. Tentative vacancies for MTS Exam 2020 are 7000. The best part of the MTS Exam is its eligibility criteria which is Matriculation pass or equivalent. Like the other govt exams, where the selection process is a two-stage process, MTS Exam is also no different. It involves the following two stages:

  1. Paper 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)
  2. Paper 2: Descriptive Test

Educational Qualification

SSC MTS Selection Process

The SSC MTS Selection Process is a two stage procedure.

  1. SSC MTS Paper I: Written Test
  2. SSC MTS Paper II: Descriptive Test

Paper-1 is an online exam which is objective multiple choice question type.

How To Score Good Marks In Letter Writing

Paper-II will only be of qualifying nature and is intended to test elementary language skills. Paper-II will be held only for those candidates who meet the cut-off prescribed by the Commission in Paper-I for different categories.

Paper II is only qualifying in nature. However, marks scored by the candidates in Paper-II will be used to decide merit in case more than one candidate score equal normalized marks in Paper-I.

SSC MTS 2020 Exam Pattern

The paper pattern for SSC MTS saw a change in the previous year session of the exam.

  • The exam consists of two papers i.e. Paper I & Paper 2.
  • Paper 1 is conducted online while Paper 2 is pen and paper based.

SSC MTS Paper-II will be held only for those candidates who meet the cut-off prescribed by the Commission in Paper-I for different categories.

  • SSC MTS Paper II will be pen and paper mode paper which will be descriptive in nature.
  • The Paper will be set in Hindi, English and in other languages mentioned in the VIIIth Schedule of the Constitution.
  • The maximum marks is 50 marks.
  • The duration of SSC MTS Paper II is 30 minutes for General Category and 40 minutes for PwD Category of candidates.

The SSC Multi-Tasking Staff is a general central service group ‘C’ non-gazetted, a non-ministerial post that falls under Pay band-1 (Rs.5200 – 20200) + Grade Pay Rs.1800. SSC MTS salary comes to be around Rs.18000- Rs.22000.

  • SSC MTS Salary Structure is based on the effect of 7th Pay Commission on the central government departments.
  • 7th Pay Commission has impacted the salary structure is somewhat a positive way. The in-hand salary is around INR 20, 000 per month.

SSC CHSL Admit Card 2020: SSC has released a notice for new exam dates of SSC CHSL Tier 1 for those candidates whose exam was not conducted due to the COVID-19 lock down. SSC MTS Final Result

  1. SSC MTS merit list for recently conducted Paper II will be on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the exam.
  2. SSC MTS Paper 2 was the descriptive test of 50 marks.
  3. SSC MTS Paper II was intended to test elementary language skills in view of the categorization of the post as Group-C and in view of job requirements.
  4. The merit list will be based on the marks secured by the candidates in tier II paper
  5. SSC MTS Paper II is only qualifying in nature. However, marks scored by the candidates in Paper-II will be used to decide merit in case more than one candidate score equal normalized marks in Paper-I.

SSC MTS Document Verification

After the publication of the SSC MTS Tier II Result, the successful and qualified candidates will be called for the document verification (DV) process. This will be the last stage. The DV schedule, venue and other details will be intimated to candidates through online mode in due course.

All the candidates will be required to carry the following documents in original and a photocopy of each of the documents to the verification center on the dates mentioned in the call letter.

  • Two passport size recent color photographs
  • One original Photo ID Proof {Aadhaar Card/ Printout of E-Aadhaar, Voter ID Card,  PAN Card, Passport, Driving License, Government School/ College ID Card, Employer ID (Govt./ PSU)}

  1. The only mode of application is ONLINE. The printed/ hard copies of the application form will not be entertained
  2. Applications received without the prescribed fee shall not be considered and summarily rejected

SSC JHT Admit Card 2020

SSC will release the JHT Translator Admit Card after the application process is over. The expected date is generally 10-15 days before the exam date, which means the tentative date could be towards the the end of October 2020.

SSC JHT Result 2020

  • SSC JHT Result for Sub Inspector will be released after a month of SSC JHT Exam. The result could be expected in November 2020.
  • Minimum qualifying marks in SSC JHT Translator Paper-I and Paper-II are as follows:

  1. SSC JHT Essential qualifications:

BEFORE APPLYING, CANDIDATES ARE ADVISED TO GO THROUGH THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN HERE, VERY CAREFULLY.
  1. The Commission will not undertake detailed scrutiny of applications for the eligibility and other aspects at the time of written examination and, therefore, the candidature will be accepted only provisionally. The candidates are advised to go through the requirements of educational qualification, age, physical standards etc. and satisfy themselves that they are eligible for the post(s) before applying. Copies of supporting documents will be sought at the time of document verification. When scrutiny is undertaken, if any claim made in the application is not found substantiated, the candidature will be cancelled and the Commission’s decision shall be final.
  2. Candidates seeking reservation benefits available for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD/ExS must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation as per eligibility prescribed in the Notice. They should also be in possession of the certificates in the prescribed format in support of their claim.
  3. Candidates with physical disability of 40% and more only would be considered as Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and entitled to reservation for Persons with Disabilities.
  4. Central Government Civilian Employees claiming age relaxation should produce a certificate in the prescribed format from their office at the time of document verification in respect of the length of continuous service which should be for not less than three years during the period immediately preceding the closing date for receipt of application. They should remain Central Government civilian employees till the time of appointment in the event of their selection.
  5. Fee payable: Rupees one hundred only (Rs.100/-) payable through SBI Challan/ SBI Net Banking or by using Visa, MasterCard or Maestro Credit/ Debit card. Fee is exempted for all Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation.
  6. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Fee paid more than once for the same applications with service charge etc. will also not be refunded.
  7. Candidate should note down and retain ‘Registration-ID’ and ‘Password’ provided to them while making ‘One-Time Registration’ which is required for filling online application.
  8. When application is successfully submitted, it will be accepted ‘Provisionally’. Candidate should take printout of the application form for their own records. Printout of the ‘Application Form’ is not required to be submitted to the Commission at any stage.
  9. Only one online application is allowed to be submitted by a candidate for Combined Graduate Level Examination-2020. Therefore, the candidates are advised to exercise due diligence at the time of filling their application forms. In case, more than one applications of a candidate are detected, the Commission will consider latest application. If a candidate submits multiple applications and appears in the examination (at any stage) more than once, his/ her candidature will be cancelled and he/ she will be debarred from the examinations of the Commission for three years.
  10. The candidates must write their name, date of birth, father’s name and mother’s name strictly as given in the matriculation certificate otherwise their candidature may be cancelled at the time of document verification or as and when comes into the notice of the commission.
  11. Applications with illegible/ blurred Photograph/ Signature will be rejected summarily.
  12. Request for change/ correction in any particulars in the Application Form, once submitted, will not be entertained under any circumstances.
  13. Candidates are advised to fill their correct and active e-mail addresses and mobile number in the online application as correspondence may be made by the Commission through e-mail/ SMS.
  14. The candidates must carry at least one latest photo bearing identification proof such as Driving License, Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, Identity Card issued by University/ College, Income Tax Pan Card, etc in original to the Examination Venue, failing which they shall not be allowed to appear for the same.
  15. Mobiles and other electronic gadgets including Bluetooth devices are banned within the premises of the examination centers. Possession of such equipment whether in use or in switch off mode, during the examination will be considered as use of unfair means. Candidature of such candidates will be cancelled. They will be liable for further action including initiation of criminal proceedings and debarment from commission’s examination up to 3 (three) years, as may be decided by the commission.
  16. In case of Fake/ fabricated application/ registration by misusing any dignitaries name/ photo, such candidate/ cyber cafe will be held responsible for the same and liable for suitable legal action under cyber/ IT act.

SSC CGL Exam Date 2020

Update on SSC CGL 2020: SSC CGL 2020 Tier 1 was conducted from 3rd to 9th March 2020 and the SSC CGL Answer Key was also released for the same officially on 16th March 2020. Now the candidates are waiting for their SSC CGL Tier I Result. The result is expected to release in June 2020. As, all the exam of SSC were postponed, SSC CGL Tier 2 exam is also postponed. The New Exam Calendar is released by SSC on 01st June 2020. The Mains exam is now going to conduct from 14th to 17th October 2020. Check notice below.

SSC CGL 2020: Eligibility Criteria

All the aspiring candidates of SSC CGL 2020 have to abide by all the Eligibility Criteria Decided by the Commission.

1. Nationality

      • Candidate of SSC CGL must be Citizen of either India or Nepal or Bhutan. If a candidate is the citizen of Nepal or Bhutan shall have a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India in favor of him/her.

SSC CGL 2020: Selection Process

The SSC CGL Exam is cinducted in four stages: || Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4. ||

  • Tier-I: Computer Based Examination
  • Tier-II: Computer Based Examination
  • Tier-III: Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)
  • Computer Proficiency Test/ Data Entry Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification

The candidates who secure the SSC CGL Cut-off in Tier I will be able to appear for the Tier II Exam.

• Separate cut-offs will be fixed for Paper-III of Tier-II (i.e. for the post of JSO and Statistical Investigator Grade-II), Paper-IV of Tier-II (i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer) and for Paper-I + Paper-II of Tier-II (i.e. for all other posts).

• Tier-II and Tier-III Examinations will be conducted for all the candidates qualified in Tier-I.

• In Tier-II, all the candidates will be required to appear in Paper-I and Paper-II. However, only specific candidates shortlisted for the posts of JSO/ Statistical Investigator and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer will be required to appear in Paper-III and Paper-IV respectively.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern  is explained in the tables below. SSC CGL 2020 comprises of four Tiers. Tier-I is mainly screening and scoring exams. Tier-II is the merit deciding Tier.

Detailed SSC CGL Exam Pattern 

Marking Scheme For SSC CGL Exam

Normalization: Marks scored by candidates in Tier-I and Tier-II examinations, if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized and such normalized scores will be treated as final and will be used for qualifying the candidates to next stage of examination and to determine final merit.

  1. SSC CGL 2020 Tier 1 and Tier 2 exam will be conducted in online mode.
  2. The time duration of Tier-1 will be 60 minutes.
  3. The time duration of Tier-2 will be 120 minutes. 60 minutes each for English & Quants.
  4. Tier-3 will be a descriptive paper of 100 marks within 60 minutes in pen and paper mode.
  5. No Sectional Cut off
  6. No Interviews: Interview component has been dispensed with. There will, therefore, be no interview
  7. Skill Test: The Skill Test will be of qualifying nature
  8. Final Merit List: The merit will be prepared on overall performance in Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III.However, the candidate will need to qualify all the tiers i.e Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III separately
  9. Minimum Mark Required for Descriptive: Only those candidates who secure at least the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination as may be fixed by the Commission at its discretion will be eligible to appear in the SKILL TEST.
  10. Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I, each Paper of Tier-II and Tier-III Examination are as follows:
    UR : 30%
    OBC/ EWS : 25%
    Others : 20%

SSC CGL 2020: Document Verification

All the candidates qualified for Document Verification are required to come for Document Verification. Those who fail to do so will not be considered for any post at the time of final selection. Candidates will have to submit copies of various documents like Matriculation Certificate, educational qualification, caste certificate, relevant document, if any relaxation is taken, etc. Candidates will be required to produce all documents in original for verification at the time of document verification. Information about the required documents will be provided while calling candidates for DV. Detailed options for posts will be taken either online or at the time of document verification.

Important things which you should keep with you while filling the Application Form:

  1. Scanned copy of your Signature ( 1kb < Size < 12 kb ) in JPG format.
  2. Scanned copy of your Photo ( 4 kb < Size < 20kb ) in JPG format.
  3. You should have a valid E-Mail I.D with you which can be used for registration purposes.
  4. You should have a valid Identity Proof with you.

Instructions to fill SSC CGL Application Form 2020

  1. Click on the link mentioned above and you will be redirected to the SSC official site directly.
  2. A page will be opened where you will get the registration and login form.
  3. If you are already registered for SSC Exams, then fill the login details to apply for SSC CGL. But if you are not registered, then first you need to fill the registration form.
  4. After login, go to “Apply Now” and fill all the required details i.e Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Education Qualification, Address, educational qualifications and all the degrees you hold, etc.
  5. After that Fill in your communication address and Upload your Photo and signature.
  6. Before submitting the form, preview your details.
  7. Once you submit the form, the next step is to pay your fee. The application fee is acceptable in online and offline modes.
  8. Pay your fee through Debit/Credit card/Net Banking/E-Challan if applicable.

  1. Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I, each Paper of Tier-II and Tier-III Examination are as follows:
    UR : 30%
    OBC/ EWS : 25%
    Others : 20%
  2. Tier-II and Tier-III Examinations will be conducted for all the candidates qualified in Tier-I.
  3. In Tier-II, all the candidates will be required to appear in Paper-I and Paper-II.

  7. Based on the aggregate performance of qualified candidates in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III Examinations, candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification and Skill Tests i.e. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) and Data Entry Skill Test (DEST).
  8. Skill Tests are mandatory but qualifying in nature. If a candidate does not appear in Skill Test or fails to qualify the Skill Test, he/ she will not be eligible for the posts where CPT/ DEST are mandatory.
  9. Preference of posts will be taken from the candidates either online before DV or at the time of Document Verification.

SSC will release the CGL Admit Card after the application process is over. The Admit Card For SSC CGL Tier II 2020 will be released once the  Result for SSC CGL Tier I is out.

  • SSC CGL Result will be released the result of SSC CGL Tier 1 in June 2020. The result was expected to be out in June 2020.
  • Minimum qualifying marks in SSC CGL Tier I and Tier II are as follows:
    UR: 30%
     OBC/ EWS: 25%
    All other categories: 20%
  • On the basis of their performance in all the Tiers, candidates will be shortlisted for appearing in Medical Examination. Candidates, who are successful in Medical Examination, will be called for detailed Document Verification.
  • Marks scored by candidates in Computer Based Examination will be normalized  and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cut off marks.

SSC CGL 2020 Resolution of Tie Cases

In the event of tie in scores of candidates in Tier-I+Teir-II+Tier-III examinations, merit will be decided by applying following criteria, one after another, till the tie is resolved:

  1. Total marks of Tier-II Examination.
  2. Total marks in Tier-III Examination.
  3. Total marks in Tier-I Examination.
  4. Date of birth, with older candidate placed higher.
  5. Alphabetical order in which the first names of the candidates appear.

Q. What is the minimum percentage required by a candidate to apply for SSC CGL?
Ans: No percentage criteria to apply for SSC CGL Exam. But for the post of Statistical Investigator Grade-II Post, a candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% and above in Mathematics during his Bachelor’s if he/she did not have statistics as the main subject.

Ans: The answer is No! Only those candidates who hold a Bachelor’s degree are allowed to apply for SSC CGL Exam who hold Bachelor’s Degree. No other degree is acceptable.

SSC CGL Tier 3 Result 2018: SSC is going to release the SSC CGL Tier 3 result in the month of June 2020. There is a delay due to the nation wide lock down to contain the spread of COVID-19 virus. As the Unlock 1 has been started from 01st June, the answer sheet evaluation process may continue now.
