The preliminary examination of WBPCS takes place at various centres within the districts of West Bengal. It’s important to highlight that the option to choose Darjeeling as a centre is specifically available to individuals from the Scheduled Tribes of Darjeeling district and candidates from three distinct hill divisions: Darjeeling Sadar, Mirik, and Kurseong.
The WBCS Prelims Syllabus includes eight subjects or topics. The exam has 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with each topic being worth 25 marks. You have 2.5 hours to complete the exam. The Prelims is a preliminary test to filter candidates, and its marks don’t count for the final selection.
