The responsibility of conducting the WBCS Exam lies with the West Bengal Public Service Commission. The WBCS Exam is structured into three stages: Preliminary, Main, and Interview. WBCS Prelims Exam Syllabus 2024

The preliminary examination of WBPCS takes place at various centres within the districts of West Bengal. It’s important to highlight that the option to choose Darjeeling as a centre is specifically available to individuals from the Scheduled Tribes of Darjeeling district and candidates from three distinct hill divisions: Darjeeling Sadar, Mirik, and Kurseong.

The WBCS Prelims Syllabus includes eight subjects or topics. The exam has 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with each topic being worth 25 marks. You have 2.5 hours to complete the exam. The Prelims is a preliminary test to filter candidates, and its marks don’t count for the final selection. WBCS Mains Exam Syllabus 2024

Candidates who do well in the Prelims will move on to the WBCS Mains exam. This Mains exam has six papers that everyone has to take, and there’s also one optional subject with two papers. Each of these papers is worth 200 marks. Candidates will have 3 hours to finish each paper.
