- Recently, the Ministry of Education’s innovation cell released the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) 2021.

Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA)- Key Points
- About: Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) is an initiative of the Ministry of Education to systematically rank all major higher educational institutions and universities in India.
- Ranking Indicators: ARIIA ranks institutions on indicators related to “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development” amongst students and faculties.
- Classification of Institutions: Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) classifies participating institutions into five major categories-
- Technical and
- Non-technical.
- Major Indicators for consideration: The overall score can take a maximum value of 100. ARIIA uses the following indicators to prepare to the rank of institutions-
- Budget & Funding Support.
- Infrastructure & Facilities.
- Awareness, Promotions & support for Idea Generation & Innovation.
- Promotion & Support for Entrepreneurship Development.
- Innovative Learning Methods & Courses.
- Intellectual Property Generation, Technology Transfer & Commercialization.
- Innovation in Governance of the Institution.
- Categorize for Classification: Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) classifies institutions in six categories-

- ARIIA ranking will inspire Indian institutions to reorient their mindset and build ecosystems to encourage high-quality research, innovation and entrepreneurship.

- ARIIA will set the tone and direction for institutions for future development for making them globally competitive and in forefront of innovation.
