The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be conducting the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2022 [including the Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination, 2022] on 05.06.2022 (Sunday) all over India.

Earlier, in this context UPSC released the UPSC CSE Prelims 2022 notification, mentioning all the important details like total vacancy, eligibility criteria and UPSC prelims 2022 exam centres.

UPSC Released Notice for the Candidates to Submit Choice of Centre

With an aim to ensure convenience for the candidates, UPSC has taken a decision to add two additional centres at Dharamshala and Mandi in the state of Himachal Pradesh, for the UPSC CSE Prelims 2022 exam that is to be conducted on 5th June 2022. UPSC has now given an option to all the candidates to change their preferred centre for the UPSC CSE Prelims 2022. In this regard, key details are mentioned below-

 

UPSC CSE Prelims 2022- Key Details regarding Changing of Exam Centres

  • Changing the Exam Centre: The Commission has recently decided to operate two additional Centres at Dharamshala and Mandi in the state of Himachal Pradesh for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2022.
    • In this context, the UPSC has now decided to give an opportunity to the applicants of UPSC CSE & IFS to submit their revised choice of Centre.
    • The requests of the candidates for change in their Centres will be considered against the capacity intimated by the Centres for accommodating the candidates.
  • Time Period: The window of submitting the revised choice of Centres by the candidates will be operational in two phases on the Commission’s website https://upsconline.nic.in. These are-
    • First Phase: 3rd -7th March, 2022 (06.00 PM) and
    • Second Phase: 10th-14th March, 2022 (06.00 PM).
    • Note: If a candidate does not want to change his/her Centre, he/she is not required to log into the aforesaid window.
  • Allotment of Centres: Requests of Candidates for change in the Centres will be considered based on the principle of a “first- apply-first allot” basis.
    • Once the capacity of a particular Centre is attained, the same will be frozen and will not be visible to the candidate.
    • The candidate will then be required to choose a Centre from the remaining ones.
