Recently, India and the Maldives held their 4th Defence Cooperation Dialogue (DCD) in Male, Maldives. 4th India-Maldives Defence Cooperation Dialogue (DCD) was co-chaired by Defence Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramane and his Maldivian counterpart, Chief of Defence Force, Maldives National Defence Forces Major General Abdulla Shamaal.

Recently, the third edition of the multilateral exercise La Perouse was conducted in the Indian Ocean Region. India’s guided missile frigate INS Sahyadri and fleet tanker INS Jyoti participated in Exercise La Perouse 2023.
Exercise La Perouse is a biennial exercise conducted by the French Navy, aimed at increasing maritime domain awareness and optimizing maritime coordination among participating navies in the Indo-Pacific Region.
The exercise La Perouse will include complex and advanced naval operations such as surface warfare, anti-air warfare, air defense exercises, cross-deck landings, and tactical maneuvers.
