Exercise INIOCHOS-23: INIOCHOS-23 is a multi-national air exercise hosted by the Hellenic Air Force. Exercise INIOCHOS-23 is also important for UPSC Prelims Exam 2023 and UPSC Mains Exam (GS Paper 3- Internal Security)
Recently, it was informed that Exercise INIOCHOS-23 will be conducted at the Andravida Air Base in Greece from 24 Apr 2023 to 04 May 2023. Simultaneously, the Indian Air Force (IAF) will be participating in its third exercise. While the Exercise Cope India with the U.S. is currently in progress at Kalaikunda, four Rafale fighters from the IAF are also involved in a multilateral exercise called Orion, being hosted by France.
INIOCHOS-23 is a multi-national air exercise hosted by the Greece Air Force.
The exercise INIOCHOS-23 is designed to simulate a realistic combat scenario and will involve various types of air and surface assets. Moreover, it will offer opportunities for the participating contingents to interact professionally, share their best practices, and gain valuable insights from one another.
INIOCHOS-23 is a multinational military exercise that will take place at the Andravida Air Base in Greece, involving the participation of several countries' air forces.
The participating countries include Greece, India, the United States, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, and Cyprus.
The exercise is scheduled to be conducted from April 24, 2023, to May 4, 2023.
The participating countries will deploy a wide range of fighter aircraft, transport planes, and helicopters for the exercise. India, for example, will send four Su-30 MKI fighter jets and two C-17 transport aircraft.
The main objective of the exercise is to simulate a realistic combat scenario, test the interoperability of the participating countries' air forces, and provide an opportunity for the sharing of best practices and professional interactions among the participating contingents.
