Autism, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by challenges in communication, social interaction, behavior, and sensory processing.
The exact cause of autism is unknown. It is believed to result from a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Research suggests that certain genes may increase the risk of developing autism, but additional factors may contribute to its development.
Early signs of autism can vary, but they often include delayed speech or lack of speech, limited social interaction, repetitive behaviors, fixation on specific objects or topics, and sensory sensitivities. However, it's important to note that these signs may not be present in all individuals with autism.
Currently, there is no known cure for autism. However, with early intervention and appropriate support, individuals with autism can develop skills, improve communication, and manage their challenges effectively.
