Key Points About Percentage Calculation
RBI has also clarified how percentage marks will be calculated under the RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2026:
- The percentage is calculated from all semesters/years combined
- 49.99% is treated as less than 50%
- If CGPA/OGPA is given, RBI converts it to a percentage using its own conversion table
- If CGPA is out of any scale other than 10, it is first normalized to 10
Some universities give CGPA/OGPA/CPI instead of a percentage. If your university provides a formula to convert CGPA into a percentage, RBI will use that. If no conversion formula is given, RBI will calculate the percentage using its own fixed conversion table, provided below:
| Equivalent CGPA/OGPA/CPI(on 10-point scale) | Aggregate Percentage of Marks |
|---|---|
| 6.75 | 60% |
| 6.25 | 55% |
| 5.75 | 50% |
