The waiting of more than 28 lakh candidates is now over, as SSC has announced the SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Date 2026. Candidates who applied for 12,256 Group B and C vacancies under the Combined Graduate Level Exam 2026 can now check the official exam schedule here.
The Tier 1 Exam will be held from 30th September to 30th October 2026 in multiple shifts. Candidates will be able to check their alloted exam city and date on the city intimation slip which will be released 8-10 days before the exam.
SSC CGL Exam Date 2026 Out
SSC is conducting the SSC CGL 2026 Exam for 12,256 vacancies which also includes AAO. The selection process consists of Tier 1 and Tier 2, and final selection is totally based on Tier 2 marks. SSC CGL Tier 1 City Intimation Slip 2026
The Exam City Intimation Slip will inform candidates about their allotted examination city for the SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam. It will be released by the Staff Selection Commission 8-10 days before the exam. Candidates can check the slip by logging in to the official SSC website using their registration details. The city intimation slip is not the admit card; the admit card will be released separately

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Date 2026
The Tier 2 Exam Date will be announced by the Commission on its official website. Tier 2 is conducted for candidates who qualify the Tier 1 exam. The exam schedule will include details such as the exam date, shift timings, and other important instructions. SSC CGL Selection Process
The Selection Process consists of two examination stages: Tier 1 and Tier 2. There is no Interview in the process.
Stage 1: Tier 1/Prelims Exam
- The Tier 1 exam is a computer-based test.
- This stage is qualifying in nature, and marks are not added to the final list.
- Only those who qualify in Tier 1, will be called for Tier 2.
Stage 2: Tier 2/Mains Exam
- Like Tier 1, this is also a CBT mode test, and candidates who pass Tier 1, will be eligible for Tier 2.
- It consists of both an Objective paper and a Typing/Skill Test.
- Tier 2 consists of Papers I, II, and III. Paper I is compulsory for all posts, and others are post-specific.
- This stage decides the final merit list.
Stage 3: Answer Key & Objection Process
- SSC will release provisional answer keys and response sheet for both Tier 1 and Tier 2.
- Candidates can check official answers to the questions asked in the exam.
- An objection window will opened and after considering the answer key objections, a final answer key will be released by SSC.
Stage 4: Document Verification (DV)
- SSC will verify educational certificates, category certificates, ID proof, and other required documents.
