How to Calculate IBPS Prelims Marks?
Calculating your Prelims marks is easy if you understand the marking scheme. The Prelims exam is objective in nature, and each question carries 1 mark. For every correct answer, you get +1 mark, and for every wrong answer, 0.25 mark is deducted as negative marking.
Formula:
Prelims Marks = (Total Correct Answers × 1) – (Total Wrong Answers × 0.25)
No marks are deducted for unanswered questions. To calculate your final Prelims score, simply count the number of correct answers, subtract the penalty for incorrect answers, and you will get your total score.
Does IBPS Clerk Exam Follow Normalisation?
Yes, IBPS Clerk uses the normalisation process to ensure fairness in evaluating candidates across multiple exam shifts. Since the Prelims and Mains exams are conducted in several shifts with different question sets, the difficulty level may vary slightly from one shift to another. To balance these variations, IBPS applies the Equi-Percentile Method of normalisation.
