UPSC CMS Eligibility Criteria

UPSC CMS Exam Pattern 2024
The UPSC CMS Exam comprises two papers. Both papers I and II will consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and will be presented solely in English. Each paper will carry a maximum of 250 marks. Paper I will comprise a total of 120 questions, with 96 from General Medicine and 24 from Pediatrics. Similarly, Paper II will also have 120 questions, with 40 questions allocated to each part. It’s important to remember that there will be a penalty for incorrect answers, known as Negative Marking. UPSC CMS Salary 2024
Candidates appointed will undergo a probationary period lasting two years from the date of their appointment, subject to potential extension or reduction at the discretion of the Competent Authority.
- For Medical Officers in the General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre of the Central Health Service (CHS), the scale of pay falls within Level 10 (Rs. 56,100 to Rs.1,77,500/-).
- In the case of General Duty Medical Officers in the New Delhi Municipal Council, their salary is within Pay Matrix Level-10, ranging from Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500/-, along with a restricted Non-practicing allowance (NPA).
- Similarly, General Duty Medical Officers Gr.II in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi receive a salary starting at the minimum of the first cell, Rs. 56,100/-, within Level 10 of the Pay Matrix under the 7th CPC.
