Three Nominations For India At Oscars 2023:
India has created history with Three Indian films, RRR, All That Breathes, and The Elephant Whisperers, have scored nominations At Oscar 2023.
However, India’s official entry Chhello Show (Last Film Show), Gujarati language coming-of-age drama did not score a nomination in the Best International Feature category at the 95th Academy Awards or Oscars 2023.

  • In News: On Jan. 25, 2023, Oscars 2023 Nominations or Academy Awards in all 23 categories were announced from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater at Beverly Hills in California.

  • The history creating original track in Telugu Language from the director SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster movie RRR is composed by Renowned Music Director MM Keeravani.
  • The singers are Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj. Natu Natu has recently won the prestigious Golden Globe award for Best Original Song.

All That Breathes

  • All That Breathes, a story of two brothers trying to protect Delhi’s black kites, is only the second Indian-made documentary to be nominated in the long documentary format after Writing With Fire in 2021.
  • All That Breathes’ is also nominated for a BAFTA Award. It previously won the ‘World Cinema Grand Jury Prize.

The Elephant Whisperers

  • The Elephant Whisperers, by filmmaker Kartiki Gonsalves, depicts the caretakers of abandoned elephants in India’s southern Tamil Nadu state.
  • Directed by Kartiki Gonsalves and produced by Guneet Monga, The Elephant Whisperers’ depicts an unbreakable bond between two abandoned elephants and their caretakers.
